Hey, Girls!

I am noticing on my fitness pal that my saturated fat levels are through the roof. :worry: is that bad or normal?? It seems hard to avoid....

Like, the most of the fat you eat is saturated?

I still think you should wait to do the diet, now is too soon.

I think you are right. I am thin to begin with and I got on the scale this morning and went from 128 to 125 (I am 5'8'') small/med build. That is really thin for me, plus i am nursing, so that number would realistically be a little lower if you took that out! So, do you think (since I am not even having my cycles back yet) I need to totally not worry about LE right now? Or, just go veggie best I can, or skip bfast still (I was going from 6-7 at night to 11-12 the next day (huge for me!) and then no snacking, but I was finding it very difficult to get all my cals in for the day.... I thought I should get a personalized plan in a couple months also. I want to try to conceive in spring 2015. Thanks!

Oh, and I guess it own't hurt to stay off the vitamins etc I always took before.

And I don't think most of the fat is sat but I always go beyond what they have set as the daily allowance (21)

I would have you drop (most) meat and stop taking any vitamins/eating super fortified foods like cereal and energy bars.

Put breakfast and snacks back in for now.

There's an essay here about altering yoru fat intake to be more pink friendly http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gender-swaying-general-discussion/39013-skinny-fats-pink-blue.html

Ok, atomic! Maybe I will just stick to skipping breakfast, but then ease up on the rest of the day... As that may be my hardest habit to break, and if I make up cals between 11am and 7 pm, I prob will be good. I will get the custom sway pack just so I don't swaycess about Dec...

I had read that essay before, but I read it again... I guess I will just not worry about it, and just look at fat intake overall (come swaying) no matter what myfitpal says, I know I am not eating the healthy fats I used to. Just this morning I broke the LE (altho still went 13 hrs without eating-had been trying 16) and had a scrambled egg. =D I used to eat tons of eggs, so to me those are a treat. I basically got my boys through peanut butter, greek yogurt and eggs and coconut products and fish oil! =D

Personally, I wouldn't make any dietary changes or even drop vitamins until January, since you already thin AND nursing.

21 grams a day??? That is unhealthfully low anyway. 25 g of fat a day minimum and if nursing it should be more than that

I don't think you should skip breakfast. I think that will cut down your milk supply too much. Just go vegetarian, drop the vitamins (if you are comfy doing so or you could also just go to 3x a week) and alter fat intake

Ok I think you are getting too caught up in details and particulars here. You aren't even TTC yet. Just make the changes as I have outlined earlier in the thread, don't get too caught up in numbers and % etc etc etc and go with that. REmember, I really cannot make a specific blanket recommendation that's going to work for everyone. We are all coming into swaying from a different place and with a different body type and metabolism and it's just not something that is going to be the same for this person and that person (and really, if you're getting that caught up where you're trying to eat an identical % of sat. fat every day you are probably thinking about diet too much)

Thanks! I am not going to look at that then. If when I full-on sway I stay in the LE limits, that alone (even if it was ALL sat fat) will be waaay less than what I normally eat. I now notice I eat a lot of fat, and protein is not an issue. I never have even thought of the sat fat before, it's just that I noticed it when I got tracking on mfp. Thanks, I'm a Martha, and I am trying to ''let go'' an be a Mary. Life's too short too think about the baseboards being dusted. lol seriously, I think of those things. =( thanks all!
