Hello,
Is this a pos opk or should I wait until tomorrow noon and retest? Or retest this evening? When do we dtd?! Last month I missed O completely so I am scared now!
The one on the left is today 3:30pm. The ones on the right are yesterday at 13:30 and 21:00.
Today is CD15, DH released on cd9 and cd14, my ph has been 5 consistently since cd11.
Any advice would be very welcome, thanks!

I don't think this is positive. The test line has to be as dark as the control line.
I understand your worry though. I'm stressing over timings and OPKs too! x

Ooh :( so what should I do? Retest this evening? I really don't wanna be out for the month again :(
Oh, and, as it's darker does it mean I will O soon?

Nope that is not positive...looks like its getting closer though so test at least twice a day so you dont miss it. Good luck!

This is a positive. I just took this. Lol. The test line will be quite dark. So when you have this...its go time.

But I never had one as dark as that last month :(
Here, these is the closest I got:

So I waited, retested and retested, and they got lighter and lighter...hence my worry!

Rosie would you mind telling me what the instructions say in your packet, mine have no instructions like yours saying sth about 3 seconds etc? Maybe I did it wrong :tissue:

The directions vary from brand to brand. Wondfo is 3 seconds to dip in the cup and the babi brand is 10 seconds. So if yours doesny say I would maybe do 5 seconds???
Your test that is dried on the left looks pretty close to positive. I would maybe try testing 4 times a day...you might be missing the peak surge. Also make sure you limit liquids for 2 hours before testing and the best time is between 10 am and 10 pm.

If all else fails you can always fall back on the every 4 day method!

The one on the left was at 4ish pm and the one on the right at 9pm the same day! Do you see why I worry now lol
Thanks, I will retest later see how it's going!! As I missed last month I feel I have been waiting forever!

I know, but I reaaaally wanted to give one attempt only a couple of tries at least first! (Hope that sentence makes sense!)

Most women dont have sperm survive more than 4 days so in doing the 4 day method you are likely to only have 1 attempt in your window.
I do see your worry for your tests..maybe try another brand?! You could always buy digital ones and take one when you think you have a positive on the cheapie. I think that would be your best bet.

Not positive...but super close! Most of the cheapies are 10 seconds. Hold your wee for 4 hours and no fluids for the second 2 hours, so your wee isn't too dilute. GL!

none of them are positive but please remember there is nothing magic about waiting till the strip is truly positive, the point of it is just that you have an attempt in your fertile window that could possibly catch the egg. There is no sense in waiting around for a positive test that may not ever come (you may miss the surge or your body jus tmay never get the concentration in the urine high enough), if you're due for O and your test is getting dark, attempt.

I would just have attempt tonight or first thing tomorrow, and then leave it for 4 days and have another attempt

OMG seriously, I just did another one and it's a big fat negative!! I am getting seriously cranky now (which isn't great for my sway right?!).
I only dunk the stick for 5 seconds, maybe that's why? But I can't repeat it as I don't need a wee!
I am sorry to be such a pain and go ooon and ooon. I will retake when the wee rebuilds lol. But yes I think we are gonna dtd tomorrow regardless as it's cd15 and I think it's risky to leave it longer.

You need to have an attempt. Period, end of story. You ovuate 8-48 hours after that surge no matter how long it stays positive for (or if you never get a true positive) YOu can't be waiting round for a pos OPK that may never come (because surge may have already occured)

Ok!! Tonight? (I am in Europe so tonight is like now, and the nearly pos opk was at 15:00) - or tomorrow morning, DH is available from 10am (this is so romantic lol).
Ps- just wanted to add, I have been feeling mild cramps today, and also my cm went from sticky yesterday to less sticky and less quantity today, in case this matters.

Well, I did yet another opk and it was the same as the afternoon one, not quite but nearly there (I think I messed up opk number two by not dunking it long enough lol) so we are going to DTD tomorrow morning!!
Good luck sp4rkl3s!! Keep us posted!

good luck to you both!
The point to take away is that the goal here is NOT DTD precisely at moment of pos OPK, but that the OPK is jsut a tool we use to be sure we have one attempt in at a good point in time ahead of ovulation but not TOO far ahead. So if your OPK is getting pretty dark, there's no harm in having an attempt instead of waiting - because you will still have an attempt in ahed of ovulation but not too far ahead.

It is the brand of OPKs that is the problem. I have not been able to find any good OPK strips here in Europe, they are all poor quality and low sensitivity and on charting websites, so many the European ladies don't get dark lines or true positives. I have personally tried that exact brand you are using and I never got even a light line when other brands showed at least something. But on some other European OPKs that work a bit better, my 'positive' OPK looks like the OPK on the left.
Bc the OPKs here are all so insensitive/bad quality, I also don't get much warning in advance of O and twice now I have Oed on the same day that I first got an OPK that looked even close to positive. (With the Wondfo brand I used in the US, that never happened, I always Oed the day after my first positive/dark OPK.) Like you I wanted to do one attempt at positive OPK and not BD every 4 days but I tried that for 4 months and 3 of those months I didn't BD until too late, bc the OPK turned dark at the last minute. Now I really wish I had just BDed every 4 days those months!
Where are you in Europe? The clearblue digital OPKs (NOT the monitors) are reliable but expensive, so I would switch to those for now. If you are in the UK, there are some supermarket brand OPKs that are pretty good, I've heard, one is Superdrug.

Thanks maiden,
I finally got a proper positive this morning on one of my cheapo opks! I started a new thread to confirm as I was paranoid, but thank you so much, your help will come in handy if we don't conceive this month, but let's keep positive and I hope for a pink BFP!
