VITEX question!?!?! please help!

Hello,

I have been on VITEX for 4 months now. I am also on the BCP. When I have my period it is lasting longer than it used too. It used to be 6-7 days and not on VITEX it is 9-11 days. With that being ssaid the last 4-5 days are very light and I usually am only menstrating for a very small amt of time each of those 4-5 days. Does anyone have an explanation on why this would happen? I know VITEX can mess with a woman's cycle, and I wanted to know if anyone else has had this happen?

You shoudln't be on both vitex and BCP. IT's messing up the way your BCP is working and that is what is causing the long spotting.

Drop vitex right away.

Can I just use another form of BC? Like a spermicide jelly? Will this make the VITEX or my BCP ineffective? VITEX has really been helping with my heavy period and my moodiness so I would like to stay on it.

of course you can use non-hormonal BC. Spermicidal jelly has no interaction with hormones and will not mess up vitex or BCP. it's the V and BCP that interact.
