Do you feel like (if you're ready) it is a good idea to attempt again after your first cycle following miscarriage? Or is it a better idea to get back on the diet for a few months. Does one sway better than the other?

I don't think we have enough data to know yet. I think either route sways pink quite strongly, personally, so I'd TTC right away if it were me amd I felt up to it emotionally. I hope you haven't miscarried?

I have not, yet. Went to ER yesterday, all measurements and levels right on but no heartbeat detected. (If I am 8 weeks would fetal age be 6wks?) Doctor says too early maybe...I dont know if he was just trying to give me false hope or if that is true. But The bleeding has turned to red and more period like. Cramps on and off, but nothing very painful. I havent given up hope yet, but was asking in case the worst was to happen. I kept thinking mc would sway pink except that I have been eating meat like crazy and taking the prenatals. Thank you for your response.

With my first miscarriage I didnt wait at all got pregnant right away and carried that pregnancy til 12 weeks. After my d and c we planned to not get pregnant until after 1 cycle but we had an oops but that ended in a chemical. Now I waited until a period and just had my attempt the other night so for me even though ive been through a lot..emotionally I still want to be pregnant and by now miscarriage is the only thing swaying. Its nerve wracking trying to decide what is right but my heart just isnt into swaying anymore but ive had multiple losses and just want a baby. You may be in a different place and feel its more important to have a solid sway. I think a lot of what you did for the sway will still be in tact at this point. Maybe try right away but also pick back up your sway at the same time? That way if you dont fall pregnant you are still on track with the sway.

Thanks for your advice Rosie. It is such a helpless feeling to see all this bleeding and to just be sitting here and waiting to see what happens. :( The ER doc said wait a week and make a follow up appointment. That will feel like an eternity, I think!

That is nuts to wait. I would be going mad. Some women do have heavy bleeding though during pregnancy and you really just never know. Crazier things have happened ya know? ! So my fingers are still crossed for you. You could take pregnancy tests. ..they would show the drop in hcg if it is indeed a loss.

That is not fair to make you wait. If you go to your normal doctor and have them take your bloods you will see whether they are rising or falling and that should give you a better idea. I went through something similar where they made me wait too so I went to the hospital to have my bloods taken. I would just go to your doctor though, the hospital just told me they couldn't compare levels as each practice have different levels but I think he just didn't want to be the one to tell me I was having a miscarriage.

I wish you luck with a sticky bean !

I'm so sorry you are going through this and don't have any answers! At the risk of sounding TMI/graphic - for me I knew it was a m/c when I passed bigger clumps than I normally would during my period. I honestly didn't pass anything that awful, but it was still clumps. My miscarriage was nearly all brownish-red, I had no bright red. If you haven't passed anything "clumpy", I wouldn't necessarily call it a miscarriage yet. I would be so incredibly frustrated to not know! You poor thing!

Re: swaying - For me I definitely worried about not having a strong enough sway after my miscarriage, but in the end DH and I decided we emotionally were ready to be pg again and really didnt' want to sit out a month waiting. I do worry about the weight I gained during pregnancy (5 lbs), the meat I ate, the prenatals, etc. I understand your concerns! I have seen a fair amount of success stories after m/c (odd, Mrs. Incredible, mariposa, etc) that gave me confidence and made me feel better about trying to conceive again right away.

Thank you all for your support. It is appreciated more than you know. It has been 6 days since the bleeding started. Would a HPT show up negative by now? That is the hard part, bluebonnet, is just the waiting to see...I am bleeding like a period...nothing clumpy. I am going to try to see when I can get into the doctor but I am sure it will be next week sometime :/

It might not be negative but the line might be lighter. It didnt take long for my numbers to drop with either loss and my hpts were negative within a week.

I think miscarriage is one of Nature's sway tactics and it is better to TTC as soon as you're able to instead of delaying to be longer on diet.

THis does also have to do with what happened during the pregnancy, however. If you had to have a D and C, for instance, you will need to wait longer than if you had a chemical. http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gender-swaying-general-discussion/29504-guide-swaying-after-miscarriage.html

 that this is just an academic question

I had a full on 5 day period that was heavier than normal and came away with a baby at the end of it. It's not over till it's over. ((((hugs))))

Just need to vent :( I am so tired of this bleeding :/ Tomorrow it will be a full week. Cramps on and off but have not passed any thing. I am just tired...maybe I should get an iron supplement? I am calling first thing to try to make an appointment for another scan and to get some kind of answers. This SUCKS :hair:

Are you on prenatals??

I would have you add in one of the easily absorbed iron pills such as Feosol 3x a week for now. AT the least, if this is ending, you will have a jumpstart because I'd have had you take that anyway.

Still  for good news.

I'm thinking its ending.... I am having serious contractions. Had them for over an hour but passed nothing except more blood and one clot. They stopped over night but had one a few minutes long this morning. How long can this last? tylenol really doesnt help:/ so stop prenatals and start iron?

bluebonnet22

I had cramps (not sure if they would be considered contractions because I didn't labor with my first and have never had a contraction!) on and off for 2 full days. Like I would have cramps/contractions for maybe an hour or 2, then nothing for 6 hours, etc. None of my clots were super big or scary. I only passed blood for 2 days, but I was such an early loss I know that played into it.

If I were you I'd stop prenatals until you see a doctor (hopefully today honey!). When my doctor did an ultrasound it was a huge relief for me. I was pretty sure it was a m/c, but it felt so nice to have someone check me out and give me closure! Skipping a couple of days of prenatals won't hurt anything! Not sure on the iron, I refer to atomic on that!

No keep going with prenatals for now just in case. I don't want your body to interpret this as a drop in nutrients and pull the plug if it's not happening on its own. THEre is also the very big possibility that this could have been a twin pg and one going and one staying. A day or two won't make any difference to your sway whatsoever.

Add the iron in addition to your prenatals.

I am so sorry you are going through this:( I keep checking in to see how you are doing. I would have thought even after going to the ER your ob would have wanted to see you right away. I really hope you get some answers soon.

If it makes you feel any better, with ds1 and ds2 I had bleeding on and off for a couple of weeks. I remember lots of clots with ds2 and it was extremely stressful. I was a little farther along then you but they are very happy and healthy now!!

I am praying that everything is ok and that you get this figured out!

Thanks for all your responses...I never labored with my other 3 so I can only assume these are contractions. They wrap around from front to back and the one this morning lasted a good 5 minutes. It was H*LL. And then to pass nothing but a small clot with more blood. UGHHHH It will be reassuring to have a doctors input on this if nothing else but for my own sanity.

So sorry you have to go through all of this. The further along you are the more painful a miscarriage can be but yup those sound like contractions. Hoping you see a doc soon. Big hugs!
