It's been 2 weeks since my last ultrasound at 12 weeks, and I posted the ultrasound here. You can't see a nub, but the ultrasound tech said said he "Saw something between the legs", that's why he guessed boy. Is that a fair statement? Are girls smooth down there at 12 weeks? Just trying to get some prospective :) (And hoping he is wrong!)

They all have something between the legs at that gestation!

My DD2 had a very long (flat) nub at 12 W6D..so yes they have something between the legs then still!

My daughter had a very long "nub" thingy at 13 weeks. NO TECH worth their salt should be guessing at 12 week ultrasounds. It is just too dicey at that stage.

Thank you for you replies! I thought the same thing... I had heard there would be something there, but wasn't sure. I don't know why he would say that.

Most techs are not familiar with the nub theory. To my knowledge IF it is a boy, a tech can see something (if they get to have a good view of the genitals) around 14 weeks. But most, even then, do not say anything....
I wish the best for you!!

At my 12+4 scan the tech looked at a potty shot and said it looks too far out to be a girl, i saw the potty shot although i don't have a pic, both myself and my husband were convinced it was ds4 as it looked do much like a turtle shot. 2weeks later i got my harmony results which said girl. I've since been told girl at 6 scans, the most recent at 36+1! Xx

The thing is, when i googled it, it only confirmed it was going to be a boy. I think that's because if it had been a boy id be convinced i saw a potty shot at that gestation, rather than both genders looking the same from a potty shot in the 12th week x
