Hi ladies, I haven't been posting lately as I'm adjusting to working a full time job after being off work for 2 years. Now that I'm bringing in more income to the family i've started to think about ttc again!!

I am working in a warehouse environment in a packaging job. I stand 9hrs a day and do lift some heavy boxes. I was wondering if anyone knows if this is dangerous during pregnancy? I don't think there are any toxins to be aware of in my particular department because I just assemble parts and package into boxes and such. My only concerns are standing all day and lifting boxes. Any thought would be appreciated. Thank you!

My ob always tells me no more than 40 lbs. I think they are pretty protected in there. Maybe someone more knowledgeable will have more insight though!

the standing is fine and I personally think reasonable lifting is ok too, esp. since you aren't currently preggo and will have time to get used to it.

I think that the "don't lift stuff" is all but an old wives' tale that doctors like to tell people since it makes them look like they're doing stuff. Sometimes people will say that they had a miscarriage after lifting something but 999 times out of 1000, the pregnancy was about to end and it was just coincidentally that moment it started. IF it hadn't started then, it would have happened the next day when she sneezed or 2 days later just all on its own.
