I know this probably wont help at all but the only thing that I could eat with my girls comfortably during early pregnancy was pizza. Don't ask me why!

I used to take ginger buiscuits to bed and nibble on them before getting up, ginger beer, or coke and lemonade helped. Eating little and often I had terrible morning sickness all day and lasted till 25 weeks stopped for abit then came back!! I had hypnotherapy but not sure it worked but felt desperate. I had it far worse with my girl than boy. Fx u get ur girl x

things that contain ginger and sour candies help people. I used Preggie pop drops my last pregnancy and I just ordered some for this time as well as "tummy drops". Im in the same boat as you I feel like I am nauseated all the time unless I eat. I dont eat big meals right not just several small ones throughout the day even if just a granola bar or an apple. Smoothies help settle my stomach too. The second I digest though I am back to feeling like I will puke!

Stick to higher protein and less carbs. I think it helped this last time. I also have taken diclectin each pregnancy. Only 1 at night for the last 2/3 of pregnancy to keep the nausea at bay. I also ate Granny Smith apples, chewed gum and sucked on holly ranchers. A weird thing that I felt really helped was iced coffee. Just did instant coffee with milk and lots of ice, drank with a straw and somehow it made it a bit better.

Unisom right before I went to sleep kept me nausea-free throughout half of the next day. So from about mid afternoon-bedtime was a disaster, but it worked for about 18 hours:)

I find it hard eating as I dont fancy anything the thought of alot of foods makes me gag :sigh:

This is by far the worst I have felt in early pregnancy, it's even brought me to tears

I am  it eases soon but it just seems to be getting worse :(

I know sickness is nothing to go by, but hoping you've got your little pink bundle. Or twins maybe? ;) x

I had severe hyperemesis gravidum with ds2 (first pregnancy - now 8), I was on Zofran, which just reduced how much I was sick. I tried everything from sour candy to acupuncture. I was almost hospitalized and given liquid nutrients (had no fat left, body was eating my muscle to live).
Ds3 was a walk in the park (still got sick, but only poopy diapers from ds2 triggered it).
I'm almost 15 weeks pregnant with twin girls, and my ms is in between ds2 and 3. I'm on Zofran again.
You have to eat as soon as you wake up. If you wake up at 2 am, have a cracker and some watered down sports drink (the electrolytes can help). Them again when you wake up the next time. The goal is to keep something in your stomach.

I'm really sick too, but here is what I am doing:
1. Unisom (class a drug, safest you can get) plus vitamin b6 at night.
2. Motion sickness bracelets (they help me as I get noticeably more ill as soon as I take them off to shower)
3. Lemon in my water (citrus is supposed to help).
4. Small meals throughout the day, so I am never hungry or have an empty stomach.
5. Ginger of any kind. Ginger ale, pickled ginger, ginger candy. Not sure it really helps, but it can't hurt.
6. Peppermint candy to suck on. Not that much of a help, but I'll take anything I can try.
7. Avoid hard to digest meals--things like a salad with lots of veggies that require my stomach to work hard to digest are death to me. It sits like a brick in my stomach.
8. Peppermint tea.
9. Homeopathic remedies (nux vomica)...

I hope I am past the worst of this soon. I'm 9 weeks and the past week was horrible!

Oh, I did want to point out that recent studies have found a correlation (not causation) with zofran and heart problems and cleft palates in babies. Obviously zofran has been used for a long time, but since this is new info that they have found over time, they may be changing the recommendations in the future. Obviously, if the mothers health is really suffering from dehydration and weight loss, then the small risk is outweighed by the risk of the mother getting inadequate nutrition and thereby giving the baby inadequate nutrients. Just thought I would put that out there.

I have severe nausea all day long in early pregnancy, and the only thing that helped at all was eating, preferably foods high in both protein & fat. Whenever I was actively eating, my nausea was less. As soon as I stopped eating, it came back full force. It has been the same for all my pregnancies that got to 6 weeks which is when my nausea kicks in.

I tried preggo pops, ginger, every sour candy ever...tons of anti-nausea meds (though not Zofran as it had not come out yet), they didn't help at all.

I really feel for you. Morning sickness has started to hit for me. I'm 6 weeks. Ended up on Zofran for both my boys. I would be interested in learning more about the potential new knower risks now I've seen this thread before going on that again for this pregnancy. I'm also finding cool showers help :)

So I have had serious morning sickness with each of my 4 pregnancies. The ONLY thing that really brought me relieve was eating a very high protein/fat diet. I would eat eggs and bacon for breakfast, a salad (chicken, eggs, with a high fat dressing like ranch), then for dinner I would eat off of a rotisserie chicken. This brought me significant relieve. Another thing that helped is really cold lemon water (with real lemon) and a Calcium/Magnesium Citrate supplement. I figured this out my third pregnancy and by my fourth pregnancy I didn't puke at all in my first trimester. I got lazy with it and puked a few times first thing in the morning a few days before I had the baby. It really worked for me as I believe my MS is due to low blood sugar.

I hope you find something that brings you relieve!! Morning sickness is so evil and can take all the excitement out of a pregnancy!

Morning sickness is the suck! I am on Reglan for it and that helps so that I can eat and keep something in my stomach. Butter cookies, potato and apple slices are all working for me too. I'm going to try a smoothie as well.

Drinking water frequently through the day in small sips. Also trying to nibble on something now and again that I may fancy and laying down as often as possible.

Do keep in mind though that twin pregnancies are much more likely to be associated with severe nausea AND health problems, and also that the pregnancies where the ladies did eventually end up on Zofran may have started off with malnutrition because the mother may not hav ebeen able to keep food down. May be a coincidence, altho of course always better to avoid medication unless needed

Just wondering how many weeks you girls were when the nauseous left as I'm currently 8 weeks pregnant and suffering 24/7 with it. Have to eat constantly to control it slightly but worn out! Tell me there is an end! I had it with boys too but I forget how long for!

keepthefaith - I'm 17 weeks and still on unisom + B6 every night. I've tried to get off of it 3x and every time I fail to take it the night before, I spend the entire next day vomiting and can't get off the couch. I work part time and stay at home in the afternoons with a very active DS so I can't afford to be miserably ill and chase after a 2 year old. I hope your nausea clears up soon . With DS I was sick daily until 14/15 weeks, but I know it's over for most people by 12 weeks.

With all my pregnancies sickness kicked in at 6 weeks! With the twins it continued til 22 weeks and I hardly put weight on at all. With my subsequent pregnancies I've had til 17 weeks and had to eat constantly. With DS3 I think I went to Mcdonalds every day for 3 months! : ( You just have to do what you need to do to get through the day. I actually saw the GP today (11weeks) to get some antiemetics as my sickness gets worse as the day goes on and having to prepare food for the children...euch...I ended up vomiting in the kitchen sink yesterday! No good!

I only had ms with dd. It started around 5 weeks all the way thru 13 weeks. The only thing that helped me was pepper mint candy. Going thru bags like it was crack! I felt really bad for consuming so much sugar the first trimester, but it was better than hanging out with Mr. Toilet 24/7.

Oh I have been putting off thinking about this but as we are now trying again for a girl I will have to go through it again. With my first I had sickness from week three to the end. Hyperemisis is awful ended up in hospital twice. Second child was really bad but managed to get through it with medicine. I'm now trying for a girl.
Things that helped. Having a tiny sugar hit before you even sit up in the morning, like a boiled sweet or biscuit. Having small snacks. Don't let your tummy get empty, it sounds weird being sick then eating straight after but you have to. If your stomach gets too empty it's hard to even keep water down. If you get really bad I felt so much better after a few days in hospital on meds and a drip. I was on cycilzine and metaclopramide, they helped a tiny bit.
It is all worth it in the end but so awful at the time.

I took sick bags and mouth wash every where, I struggled to go in a car. I had to be signed off work. Oh really dreading going through it again. Most people find its passed by 14 weeks. I hope it does for you.
