Can you share your exercise routines please :)

Did you do weights one day, walking the next or weights and cardio every day etc

Looking for a routine that works :)

I didn't do any cardio, I did weights

so for instance Monday I would do biceps, triceps and abs
Wednesday I would do legs(squats, lunges, etc)
Thursday I would do my back
and Friday I would do legs again

I usually did 3-4 days of this

I never got pg when I was exercising to super huge levels (if I had, it prob would have been a girl LOL and we wouldn't be here now ;))

When I got my boys, I was doing totally moderate exercise.

DS1 - walked 4 days a week to bus, work, school, carrying backpack with books in it
DS2 - walked about 20 min 5 days a week pushing stroller with DS 1 and also did about 30 min. muscle building exercise (at a diff. time of day)
DS 3- worked in dog kennel doing mild to strenuous physical activity 4-5 days a week for several hours (also ate like a pig tho!!)
DS4 - Started to try to exercise for pink sway but could never really get into it because I was always interrupted by DS 3, so I was doing mod. exercise and then gave up

It was when the high intensity interval training first came out. I would go hard running up the hill behind our house, then walk down. Three times (it's a big hill). You can really feel it in your legs!

I'm thinking of alternating walking with buggy one day, weights the next. I don't exactly enjoy the weights lol but it does bring out the competitive in me.
dloui your routine sounds good I might try it, thanks!!

When I conceived my boys I was doing maybe 30mins cardio than always some weights. Place boxing classes and going for walks with friends. Always followed by a big meal :) and sometimes a protein shake.

Atomic I think with swaying it's so easy to try and over do everything  I love that you always remind us not to kill ourselves doing things and in turn it makes goals easier :)

It is so much better to go for goals that are reachable than to try to construct the "perfect" sway only to end up falling short and giving up!

REmember - "She who reaches for the stars, often ends up flat on her face!" :)

You may actually be surprised and end up liking the weights. You won't get big and muscly, I lift weights and I am petite. The girls who end up looking like Ah-nold are usually taking some powerful mojo to look like that.

I was super lazy that time(absolutelly no sport).
Was sleeping by 10-11...snacking all day long.
Buut I was not drinking coke for 8 months. No soda at all.

I crossfitted with DS2, was doing the "Buff Brides" workout for my wedding with DS1. Always about 4 days a week, always with weights (HEAVY weights with DS2) and tried to up the protein and nutrients in my diet to help with muscle recovery. My crossfit routines varied, but always intense and short. I LOVED them, and was sad to give them up while trying to sway for DD. I'm definitely going back to high intensity interval training after she's born!

Is Intensity a good workout to do for a boy sway? If I run 20-30 minutes 2 days a week and do Intensity 3 days a week will that be okay? I really love running and don't want to give it up. I am hoping that running for a short period of time is okay.

Running for a short time is fine, just keep it 30 min or less. UP to 45 is ok, but I'd be sure to eat before and after if you go that long.

Do you mean insanity?? That may sway blue but keep it 45 min or less.

Yes! Insanity! It's a lot of plyometrics and short bursts of exercise with short recovery time.

That's great, just keep it less than 45 min and be sure to give yourself time to recover (ie do not exercise every day)

I didn't sway but I have two boys and I was doing cardio (including a grueling spinning class a few times a week) on most days, weights 3x a week, and an abs class 2x week. I also hiked most weekends.

I bet you were eating a lot when you did that, trifecta!! :)

Absolutely--my diet was very healthy but I would guess I ate about 2500 calories a day and I took prenatals. Best shape of my life.

Just want everyone to remember, the diet and exercise work together, I have many gals who did do quite a lot of exercise (myself included with DS 3) and got boys doing that but they were in excellent physical condition and eating tons of cals.

When I got DS 3 I was doing a very physical job for 4-5 hours a day, BUT I also weighed 135 lbs of largely muscle and ate 3000 cals a day. :)

I was working out about 4x a week. I was doing the elliptical on high resistance at a medium pace. And then after I was finished with that I was doing strength exercises like squats and weights. I did a BUNCH of calf exercises and dead lifts. Everything I did I tried to make sure I had 5 or 10 lb weights in my hands.

:agree: I have also always done a lot of calf exercises LOL. Wonder if there's anything to that.

oh and also, if you're not fit, ladies, please don't feel like you have to use really heavy weights (like 5-10 lbs), this may be too much for a woman, esp. if you are only just starting off.

I always use 2-3 lb weights and no heavier than that, and I got 4 boys and quite a bit of muscle doing that.

So I'm into a routine now of 45 mins brisk walking one day - weights the next day. With the weights I just do what I can manage and then a little more so not OTT.
I hope this is enough :)
It's more than I have done in years. I had become a lot lazier than I realized!!

I'm either doing weights & cardio combined or just weights, 30 mins a day 4-6 days a week with one day of hiking in the mountains! I actually love the weights and hope all this muscle I'm building will help me have a better pregnancy & easier weight loss when I'm done!
