View Full Version : I know this is a ridiculous question

I'm having a mini freak-out, lol. I took my first test on 8 DPO on a store brand hpt similar to EPT and I got a squinter crosshair. The next morning with FMU I took a frer and I got a solid (but faint) line. Now here I am on 11DPO, and I took another HPT and the line isn't darker AT ALL. My breasts are still sore (the only symptom I've had since 9DPO), but that faint line is starting to freak me out. With my first DD I tested around the same time and the line got darker within a couple of days. DD #2 doesn't count because she was a "surprise" :). So, anyone have a similar experience with a positive outcome?

I'm still temping (not being great about it, lol) and my temp is still high. I'm just being crazy I hope.

I totally freaked myself out over the darkness of my hpt's and drove myself and everyone else mad.
the darkness/lightness of the tests can vary from test to test (even in same brands) time of day, how diluted your urine is and so many other things.
Understandably you want to see the lines getting darker but try not to get very stressed or look too much into it at the same time :)

Congratulations and lots of sticky baby dust your way :)

I don't think you should read anything into the darkness progression. There are so many variables that come into play with the concentration in your urine, and even the tests themselves that you simply can't tell anything at this point.

The thing people need to watch for is when their tests were very dark and suddenly regress to barely there. That is concerning. But normal day to day stuff, you just can't tell anything by tests getting darker.

The same thing happened to me with DS2. I always used FMU, and they didn't get dark until I was 10 weeks! The digis came back before the 3 minutes was up.

I wouldn't worry one bit!!

I had a freak out the first few days of this pregnancy because of lines not being dark/darker/as dark as the previous. It is true that there are dye variations, even in the same batch of tests and so many things can influence the urine. Try not to worry (easier said than done, i know). I'm sure all is progressing as it should :) Congratulations!!!

I'm just going to stop taking these HPTs! Easier said than done...but I'll keep temping for the next couple of weeks just to make sure everything is going as expected:) thanks for talking me down, ladies!
