Has anyone else had experience of this, is it another consequence of the herbs, diet etc?
Af has always lasted 5 day, 2 heavy, 2 light, 1 spotting. This one started the same but I am still having spotting (it is mucousy blood, sorry tmi!) and af started 8/9 days ago. It is only a little bit but this has never happened to me before

mm, maybe you had a chemical then?
Or itīs just the hormones that are in a different balance now. I didnīt notice a difference, but now I have looked it up.
In winter/spring when I had 24 day-cycles AF was shorter, last two cycles with delayed O, I had a longer AF too (but only 1-2 days longer).

Thanks, indira, do you know the signs of a chemical pregnancy, I had mild cramps but nothing that harsh. If it was, do you know if I just carry on tic as normal?

It's likely just hormones. Low estrogen levels cause spotting.

It's not exactly spotting, af has just not ended, following the usual heavier days I've had days of mucousy blood, at first it would just come out, enough to need a liner but now it's only when I wipe. Does that sound hormonal?

I have really long periods now. I am on day 6 now and it is still light. I figured it was just my hormones.

What supplements are you taking?

My periods were like that when I had my IUD so possibly hormones. What blood thinners are you taking also - do you need to cut back on baby aspirin if you're on that?

I'm taking folic acid every day and aspirin every other day and saw palmetto and vitex every other day for first 14 days of cycle

I would maybe skip the aspirin until the bleeding stops - I only take it 3 times a week but still get the occasional odd thing happen like bleeding gums when I brush my teeth.

FWIW, I had spotting this last time leading up to O day. AF ended on CD6 but I had spotting on CD11, 13, 14 & 15. I O'd on CD18. I was not using any aspirin, just Pep tea and Vitex.

... and keep with the Rephresh if you're worried about the blood upping your pH!

This last af started a day or 2 late and lasted forever with bloody, brownish mucous at the end. It was very strange. I feel like I just finished af and will be o'ing so soon after. Hope u get it all figured out.

I've had the opposite happen to me. Since having my kids, my period tends to be about 8-9 days, starting out super heavy for about 3 days, with the last 3-4 days being spotting. Since taking vitex, my period has been super light - 5 days: 1 regular, 2 light, 2 spotting. I barely needed to use tampons the last couple of cycles! (tmi, I know). I'm sure your change is nothing to worry about - take it as a good sign that your cycle is changing.

Shouldihope,
That is exactly what I'm getting now, why do you think this happened, do you think it was hormonal? Thanks

swish- I do think it is the up and down change of hormones with the supplements and all the other stuff we are doing to ourselves. The crazy things we do to fulfill our dreams. FX this month is the month for all of us so we don't have to think about af for a long time.

Don't just stop the aspirin, start giving yourself another day or two between doses and see if that helps. My money would be on the aspirin (cran is just as bad, if not worse.) even if you end up taking it just once a week it still helps with the acidity.
A chemical is def. a possibility as well and there's no real way to know without having a BFP at some point.

Thanks for posting this Swish because this is the first month that I have had the same issue. I'm like "WTF am I still spotting on cd9?!?" Weird.
I'm only taking Vitex and a prenatal vitamin. I took an hpt on cd28 and 29 and they both came up negative. the strange thing is that I would be elated if this was a chemical pregnancy. It would mean the Vitex is working and I am no longer annovulatory.

I hope that is true (not the chemical, but that you're ovulating! GO vitex go!!)

That is really interesting Mocha and I agree that is a good sign - if you have half a sec, I hope you (and everyone who responded to this thread) drop by the "Vitex" thread and share your experiences so we have them all in one place.
