Warning--TMI! Question about BD positions

So DH and I experimented last night trying for deep penetration. We tried rear entry and then with my legs over his shoulders to see which was deeper. He said they both felt the same and he was able to hit the cervix with both (not very comfortable, btw!). Now, my thought is, wouldn't the legs over the shoulders be a better position, because then I can just lay there with my hips propped afterwards? The rear entry seems like it might cause sperm to leak out while I flip over... plus, the last baby I conceived in that position was a girl!

Doggy style - lets more air in which can cause sperm to leak out and can also decrease the chances of pregnancy. Also not a good position in the first few months of pregnancy because the air can cause m/s.

Legs up (over his shoulders or close to his armpits) - Is great for keeping everything in and laying there waiting. Putting your legs up close to his armpits might be a little more comfortable for you so you can have the big O!

ITA with this; it will definitely help you keep more swimmers in if you're already on your back!

Yeah, I would go legs up over his shoulders or something similar. That's what we went with because I was worried I would leak too much with doggy.

wait so no doggie style then??? i guess you are in the same 90degree position with hips in the legs over shoulder thing... same as doggie position

I think it pretty much is the same position. As long as it's deep, I say it works. Plus, you can actually do this position a bit propped in the first place, and just prop some more after if you need.

Yes, that's fine and I totally agree that it's MUCH easier to lie still afterwards in that position than it is with doggy style!!

Then, I literally latched my legs around his neck and while he, um, stayed put, he lifted me up and put a couple of pillows under. I was like WE ARE BD MASTERS! yea this sounds like a better idea.....and you conceived a girl rear entry? I did rear entry with ds4(not knowing at the time that bd positions DO matter lol) and then I jumped and dumped and even douched afterwards and got a boy lol :) (oh and I douched before sex too) so I am doing way more study this time around lol GL hope you get your blue bundle and sending you blue dust :)

I got 3 girls with doggy!! For me it's not a boy position.

You might find a LOT of people who conceived girls with doggy because Dr. Shettles was so convinced that doggy was the way to go, everyone who wants a boy does doggy style, even if they don't do a single other thing to sway. It doesn't necessarily mean that position sways pink, it may be coincidental (people who are more "set" for girls are TTC hoping for a boy and therefore are more likely to do rear entry.)

My neighbor also got a girl via doggy style (which she told me all about in exacting detail the first time I met her!!! o.O)

LOL I bet! I really don't think the position matters as much as long as you get the sperm close to the cervix. And even then, it may not matter as much.

No, I only had ONE boy at that point and she had one girl and was desperate for a boy...she was 38 years old and didn't want any more kids after that, and her sister had only girls as well. At the time I thought she was a little off the wall but now I have a lot more sympathy for her! (BTW she did have another girl.)
