Because it 'sweeps' some of the excess fats and nutrients from your system.
Right now I'm taking Metamucil not for sway reasons, but because the bcp and Lupron for HT has me so stopped up I need it to stay regular!

Oh I really really doubt it absorbs THAT much fat, it's one of those 'extra' LE benefits. It's important to be careful not to drop the fats too much as it can reduce fertility anyways.
The fiber helps on the LE diet since the 'crash and burn' LE diet is so full of simple carbs and it's pretty easy to get stopped up anyways eating so many empty white starches.
You don't 'need' the fiber supp though if you don't want to use it.

It seems to be getting good results; I take it after my fattier/more nutritious meals, usually just once a day, sometimes twice. I use ground psyllium husks, 3-4 teaspoons mixed with water.

Fiber was one of those things that was a statistical surprise, I had added it because it seemed like on paper it might help (absorbing fats and fat soluble nutrients from diet) and then it DID help sway pink in a big way!
The problem for you DJ is that you seem to need the fat and nutrients becuase your LP has been short, so I'd start off with a low dose if you want to add it.

Everyone should be eating the amount of fat that is in the LE Diet. DO NOT drop below 25 g of fat EVER and you can have up to 60. The guideline is 20-30% of your day's calories from fat, and this averages between 25-60 g fat. If you're having trouble with short LP, you would cut back on fiber and eat more like 60% fat.
The fiber advice is for people who are following the LE Diet as it is written.

Hi Atomic,
I have not done any fiber because I had lost some weight and did not want to chance not ovulating. My LP is actually 13 or 14 days usually but when I stopped clomid it was only 10 days. We will see what happens this cycle. CD 6 today. Do you think I should add it in? They have pills or like metamucil?

I prob. wouldn't have you add it at this point just because things seem weird now and I don't want to aggravate it. most likely because of Clomid but the fat is still needed to rectify it.
