So I've been on LE diet for a few months now and just started Clomid this month and AF has shown at 6dpo!!! So disappointed :( has this happened to anyone else doing LE? I'm not even all that strict with it either :/

I don't know but I'm following this thread! I sure hope not, my normal LP is total crap anyways. :(

Not sure, I have been on the atomic fertility diet for about 4 months and took clomid for 2 cycles and when I stopped, my second cycle off clomid I ovulated on cd 8 and AF came on 11 dpo so I had a 10 day leutal phase compared to 13 or 14. Not a fan of clomid for me.

Ick. Could very well be the clomid, that stuff can thin the lining which might explain the short LP.

My LP is pathetic - even without any drugs or any sway, it averages 10 days and can be shorter. Ugh. So I don't need to do anything that reduces it even more! No Clomid for me sounds like.

If this is the first cycle you've had a short LP, I'd definitely blame clomid not the LE. Even though clomid is supposed to extend your LP for most women, some experience the opposite. Especially older ladies. Are you AMA?

Yes, it can, but I suspect it's the Clomid. We have just had several people who had short LP all of a sudden starting Clomid (which is weird because Clomid is supposed to help LP and can be a miracle for people with short LP)

Please tell me your day's totals just so I can be sure you're in the right range and tell you waht to tweak.

Here's the thing though. Clomid is the gold standard for LENGTHENING LP. I have seen the vast majority of people have fantastic results iwth Clomid for their short LP, and I wouldn't hesitate to use it for anyone who is experiencing short LP issues.

Sometimes it takes more than a month for your body to work things out. These things aren't miracle drugs, it takes time for your hormonal profile to shift.

Just be sure to eat enough fat (60 g) and I'd have anyone with short LP normally, do atomic fertility diet.

For sure, I'm worried about my fertility running out so no extremes for me. :) I have to be moderate with IR and PCO tendencies anyways.

We have been getting some good results with people going gluten free, too. I hate to jump on a bandwagon LOL but it's really seemed to help a few gals who weren't getting pregnant, to conceive.

I'll keep it in mind as a possiblity for sure. I kind of don't want to unless I have to though - I love my breads too much, LMAO!!!

I have been gluten free for the most part since swaying and really feel better. I have a cheat once in a while but hoping I get my long awaited BFP soon!

On Fertility Friend I've seen several ladies with PCOS who weren't Oing at all or quite infrequently & irregularly started having regular cycles after going gluten free. Even just reducing carbs can help.

The gluten free thing has fascinated me for a while. I have a friend with 2 boys then 2 girls. Her second son has celiac disease and is also autistic so the whole family had to go gluten free as he just eats whatever he can find. I did wonder if it swayed for her.

it may even be better for you anyway due to your ethnic heritage because you may have less ability to digest gluten. :)

Yeah I agree that's a possibility. I'm going to try to cut down on gluten heavy products but I'm not going to go gluten free necessarily.....just replacing breads/pasta with more rice as my staple starch. I'm not going to fret over the tiny amounts in condiments or additives.

I went gluten free slowly over a few years. Don't over think it. Its not that bad. Don't go crazy on all the gluten free products, unless you want to.

I use chips instead of bread a lot. Oatmeal instead of waffles. Once you cut back it gets easier and easier, especially if you are feeling better, the cravings really diminish.

The fabulous smell of fresh bread gets to me sometimes, but when I eat it and its not that great and I feel lousy.
Sometime just a small piece of cake or a half a brownie is enough for me and I'm good and satisfied for a while.

Thanks Adia!

I'm sooooo not a fan of those gluten free products. We try to make everything scratch, and I do bake my own bread too, so I don't use too many prepackaged foods.

I LOOOOOVE oatmeal but alas it's a no-no for a girl sway. :(

I don't really think I need to go too crazy cutting it ALL out, just less. Even going back to more chinese style eating will help as there's very little wheat products in chinese foods. I do love dumplings for example and dim sum wrappers are all usually rice based. And there's LOTS of noodle choices that are gluten free.

Are you using corn chips? Or potato chips?

Adia

We lived in Asia for years and the rice based products were so much easier to work with. I am kinda picky, but also a creature of habit, so I eat Tostitos lime chips and Pringles.

DH found some brown rice chips and black bean chips that I LOVE! Overall, I have just learned to live without it. Even thought everyone in this house eats bread, pasta, etc it doesn't bother me anymore. When we have lasagna or spaghetti I just pour sauce and meatballs over cottage cheese or over vegetables.

I have to admit, swaying for a boy is a lot easier when it come to options than swaying for a girl!! But I was a natural girl swayer 3 times over so it was time for a change.

Good luck sweetie, you'll figure it out...and hopefully get that GIRL!

LOL I'm not a fan of rice crackers. Or rice chips. Or rice cookies.

I do like those shrimp chips though, gotta hit the asian supermarket again I'm sure there are lots of options there.

I was NEVER a big pasta person because, well, I got fat on pasta sooooo easily. My PCO/IR tendencies again. So no biggie to give that up. Bread is harder!

I do love noodles though, so I have lots of ideas. Thank goodness salt isn't a sway factor because I'd DIE without salt in asian foods! LMAO! Bad enough I have to cut down on my sugar intake (because of IR, not because of sway).

Adia

I had IR too...I have PCOS too. I can swear, once you give up sugar for a while the cravings go way down.
Well, maybe once I was swaying boy and ate better the cravings went way down. But I am usually a sugar fiend too! Giving it up is no fun!

Agreed, salt is critical in Asian food!

My totals should all be fine and the Clomid is actually because I have a short lp (9 days) to begin with! Can someone link me to atomics fertility diet please? Tried searching but I'm terrible at it! I've actually eaten more eggs, chicken etc this past month due to holidays so will be interesting to see how this months pans out!

I dated a gluten free guy for years and I'm a huge cook, always make things from scratch and love big projects like traditional lasagne, baklava, croissants etc. My favourite thing is to cook for those I love, so I got very into GF cooking and baking. So if you're up to making things from scratch and experimenting you can make things that taste amazing and have good texture. In fact the best brownies I've ever made are GF!

Remember the ol' 80-20 rule...you get 80% of the results from 20% of the effort and in order to get that final 20%, you have to shell out 80% of the effort. Even just cutting back on gluten may still really help. Thanks Adia for lots of great tips.

As for me, I like to eat extra gluten. I think it gives me super human abilities. :curtsey:

Well I'm doing something right.....managed to drop a few pounds the past few days.

I think I should up my fats a bit though, more full fat dairy. I do worry that I'm risking being too lean with bodyfat around 16-18%.

That is why I have a serving of full fat yogurt with fruit for breakfast. I am 16-18% body fat too. I have managed to maintain my weight though, despite the normal fluctuations during a cycle. It has worked for me!

Yah been having ice cream too, don't need an excuse to have more ice cream! :)

I really don't want to gain weight, but I really wouldn't mind if my body composition shifted a bit. Cardio is supposed to cannibalize muscle but unless I'm running marathon training distances it never seems to happen for me. :( I'm not sure if it's my PCO tendencies that make it hard for me to dump muscle.

I was the same way at first when I began the to sway girl back in March. As time has gone on with adhering strictly to the diet, the cardio has made my muscles leaner. They are still very present, because I don't look skinny fat but leaner. I think that is the point. It will happen for you; give it a bit more time. Case in point, when friends come over and see our wedding picture we have hanging in our hallway, they always say to me, "whoa, you look so much leaner now, than you did back then!" I always smile inside, because I feel my sway is working!!!

GL to you!

Will have to carry on and see, I guess! :)

When I was a serious runner I was seriously lean - it wasn't that attractive, flat as a board front and back, LOL. That was extreme though, I don't think I'd want to get back there as it's too much to maintain my fertility.

Well hopefully won't have to be too long on this regime!

With that low a body fat, I would not even WORRY about your muscle mcass. SEriously, we don't even know that it matters, it's just a theory.

Lace I would not get lean now, please wait till after your HT go round because I worry if you are losing weight, your body will decide that now is not the time to get pregnant and pull the plug on any potential pregnancy. Please wait till after your transfer.

Eek that is good advice!! I will just maintain and eat balanced for now. I know that the clinic wants me to watch my IR so I shouldn't be loading up on sugar and simple carbs, but I will definitely not lose any weight. More healthy fats and protein. :)
