Hi everyone,
I was wondering....
All the gender shots I have seen are where the baby is lying on it's back or a potty shot.
Can the ob see the gender on a sideways baby, as in lying on its side and facing you?.
I am asking cause I told him I didn't want to know the gender and the full scan was done as I described. Would he be able to tell like that? Thanks!

i think potty shots or profile shhots are better, but i am no expert:curtsey:

They can be very sly at hiding the gender on you. with a front on shot like that you MIGHT see it but if you tell them you dont want to know then you wont see it. Its definitely harder to see at that angle than with a profile or potty shot though.

Thanks for your replies,
Sorry, I didn't finish explainig, after the scan I asked him about the gender as the curiosity was killing me, and he said he thinks it's a boy.
I was wondering if he could have seen enough sideways?
I think I saw a little lump too, do babies still have a nub then, or if there is a lump it's a boy and that's that? (14weeks).

That lump could have been swollen girl parts. At 15 weeks my girl still had a lump and it scared me til they got the potty shot and I got absolutely clear 3 lines.

I think that in situations like this, it is best to rely on what the tech or doctor says because they see way more than we do in a picture and/or what your memory was.
