Hi all, just a quick question. Hoping to ttc in september this year. I will be trying the same month as mirena removal as it can sway pink. but im wondering because i dont know when i might o after its removal if we should do fr instead of abstinence and 1 shot? Im not sure if ov kit would help the first month post removal of mirena or does it? will be doing le also. and hoping to buy a plan from atomic aswell nearer the time thanks

I conceived elderson the first cycle after removing my Mirena... We used OPK's along with charting to do the timing thing, along with mild diet changes, and got the boy we were shooting for.

ETA- I O'ed on CD 27, 28 days post removal. But that, obviously, can vary.

When I removed mine my OB checked with U/S and I actully ovulated the next day, so I suggest you be careful some days prior to the removal. Though if it happened this way it could REALLY sway pink.. Try to check with OPKs the previous month so you roughly know your dates.

abstain is impossible in that scenario, because you won't know when to begin it.

FR is more possible (DH just releases daily till go time) but still darn tough.

I would ahve DH release every 2-4 days and then have one attempt at pos OPK.

Yes, OPK do still work for most people after getting Mirena out

Thanks ladies bit clearer now, just one more thing say I really needed to get pregnant in September October the latest would fr and frequent bd increase my chances of conceiving but lower my chances of swaying pink? Or would I be better fr one attempt in the September and if I dont get a bfp take my chances with fr and bd every other day instead?

I would start OPKing and even temping a few months before removal, to see if you are actually still Oing on the Mirena, as is not uncommon. Bc if you are, you'll need to know where in your cycle you are when you remove it, plus it will help you plan & time things ideally.

I would have DH release every other day all cycle long for optimal sperm health and so you have the best odds of conception while still strongly pink with one attempt. If he does more frequent release, like multiple times daily, it will sway a little bit more pink (but not by that much), however it will have much more negative effect on your chances of conception, and if you want to catch that first egg...I'd not do FR or anything to reduce sperm count or quality.

Focus on diet strictly and if possible exercise for a full 3 months before your first attempt, that plus one attempt & being just off the Mirena will sway plenty pink, much more than FR or abstaining! Good luck :)

FR lowers your odds of conception even with BD every other day. I think it is a HUGE step in the wrong direction for both odds of pink and odds of conception to do that.

If you really need to get pg I would do SMEP along with diet and have DH take OLE and LR. Sperm Meets Egg Plan (http://www.pregnancyloss.info/sperm_meets_egg_plan.htm)

I don't recommend that for pink though!
