Hello! Well I have PCOS but have had three healthy boys who are now 8, 5, and 3. I then began having miscarriages though. I had my first in May of 2013 at about 6 weeks. Got pregnant again and found the baby had passed away at just over 9 weeks in February of 2014. I waited about two weeks before my body tried to miscarry but ended up with an emergency D&C due to so much blood loss. Had bad anxiety attacks and took a long while to recover from. We didn't do any testing still because the OB thought it wouldn't happen again. Well I got pregnant again in September, and my sister finally at 40 got pregnant too and we are due just two weeks apart. Well I have a home doppler and couldn't find the heartbeat at about 13 weeks. Went to the ER in a panic and found out this baby had passed away about 5 days before. Finally did testing and found out she was a completely normal baby girl. Wow, that was devastating and still is. I never thought I could even get pregnant with a girl but I guess the diet soda and lots of beans along with skipping breakfast and no cereal does work. Now I have found out my sister is having a girl and it is so bittersweet. My ob didn't want to do much testing except basic thyroid panel and blood clotting and it came back normal. I went to a new PcP though and she thinks I have MTHFR due to family history, etc and we did deeper thyroid testing but not mthfr testing yet because it is so expensive. Anyway, sorry to ramble. We will be trying again hopefully in February. Please pray the supplements the new PCP has me on help. I am avoiding a complete prenatal but just taking a certain kind of folic acid and amino acid, along with inositol for my PCOS. Sorry to ramble and thanks for reading this far if you did. I would appreciate all the prayers you can give that we finally will get our healthy baby girl!

Those miscarriages are not caused by diet!! Please get a full immunity panel. Dr Braverman on here specializes in recurrent loss and he would be able to help you.

Without proper identification of what is going on, this is likely to happen again. Immunity testing is a relatively new field. There are lots of things that can change in us after having babies.

Thank you! I called his office to set up the ten minute consult and messaged him on here. I am desperate for any help possible. Every time I just keep being told it most likely won't happen again, then it does. I obviously get a few weeks further along every time so it gets my hopes up.

So, so sorry for your loss. I have found the majority of the time when babies are lost at that stage and they're genetically normal, something often shows up with that deeper thyroid testing that wasn't noticeable on the standard testing. I hope you gets some answers.

Sorry for all those losses. I cannot imagine and my heart breaks for you. Glad you are taking steps to further investigate the issue. You know your body better than a dr you see for a few min if something feels a miss it's good to get a 2nd and sometimes 3rd opinion. I hope you get answers. ((Hugs))

I am so sorry for your losses! :( I've gone through two recently, at very similar fetal ages to yours. SO heartbreaking, especially knowing it was your girl. HUGS!
But I have to say that just because the test came back "perfectly normal" doesn't mean everything was really healthy with that fetus. It just means that none of the things they do the standard tests for came back positive.

Thank you so much for even just reading and understanding. I know you ladies of all people understand the heartbreak. I was just tested for anti nuclear antibodies on Friday so should get results this week. I am just doing my own investigating and getting any test done I can afford right now. The deeper thyroid tests came back this past week but I'm guessing she wasn't able to go over them yet so I am calling on Monday to make an appointment for hopefully that day to get some more answers. I really feel I have some kind of autoimmune thing going on. I developed a cold sore just in the crack of my lip on the right and about the same time a spot on my jaw on the right became sore and tender. Now the spot that was sore has become swollen so I'm looking like a chipmunk on one side so have to go in for that anyway. Sorry to ramble. Thanks again, though. I am determined to get answers!
