Hello!

I've been lurking for a while before registering... so far all my sway questions have been answered by a google search and these forums that I didn't feel I really had anything to add!

I do have a question now, though - DH and I are going to do TBM by putting the "deposit" right in my Diva cup, then inserting it. We're not going to be adding anything to make it splime, just going with the straight "au natural" as I tend to react poorly to extra stuff up there. Should I lay down after or stay upright?

As background, we're doing a bunch of other sway factors (tighty whiteys and cranberry for him - he won't give up the maca, though, as it's what got us our current DD after a year+ of trying - and LE diet and baby aspirin for me, plus only one attempt per cycle) , and we're both 35+ (and have had problems conceiving in the past, though we're not exactly sure on the cause) so I don't want to jinx us entirely for chances.

Thoughts appreciated. Thank you.

Hi and welcome :)
I'm not sure why you're using TBM as it would seem to undo any benefit from one attempt at positive opk, and I don't think Atomic recommends it, or the baby aspirin. Hopefully she'll see your post and advise you further.

Hi and welcome :)
I'm not sure why you're using TBM

Thanks for the welcome!

We're doing TBM as we have some physical constraints that prevent DTD the traditional way. It's either do it at home with TBM or pay somebody a lot of money to have it done in a clinic.... and we don't have that sort of cash, unfortunately!

I don't think Diva cups are recommended for at home insemination, they're not shallow and sit near the opening of the vagina, not next to the cervix. It's the disposal Instead Soft Cup that people use since it sits close to the cervix. You can get a pack on Amazon for like $13.

Is DH only releasing once for entire cycle? That isn't very good for sperm health, especially at 35+.

The Diva cup is a bit longer, so if you do decide to go that way, I would recommend laying down after insertion, to make sure some of the swimmers make it in

He's releasing every day or two (or so he reports; I'm not there to witness it all, LOL!) we're just doing one cup attempt because I've read that a one-and-done favors girls, where repeated favors boys.

Thanks for the suggestion... it was kind of what I was thinking but wanted to make sure. Thanks!

Oh sorry didn't read far enough. I would probably start off getting up afterwards and if that doesn't work, then you can switch to laying down.

I would have hubby switch from cran to Olive Leaf. 500-1000 mg daily through cycle.

Thank you for all the advice, atomic! You are a swaying goddess!
