Ok, i know i have asked a lot of question, so i give my apologies. Please bear with me! I have pcos (19 cysts on right ovary and 15 on the left), normal blood glucose levels, but high insulin levels. Testosterone levels last were slightly above normal. I do get blood tests regularly to check my levels, and my last insulin test came back low-normal. Testosterone still a bit high but normal-high. I am also on metformin. Now if my testosterone levels have gone back down to normal do i still do testosterone lowering activities/supplements? And my blood glucose is fine, just not my insulin...well it is while i am on metformin. Its my understanding that ppl with pcos usually have high blood glucose, so i don't know if this will impact on the diet i follow. Please help!?

Re: the testosterone levels. It's highly debated on this site whether testosterone really sways or not. I do think it does http://www.epjournal.net/wp-content/uploads/ep06147160.pdf and even if your testosterone levels are "normal", studies have shown that people with low testosterone conceive more girls. Personally I would see no reason to not do testosterone lowering "activities" (ie cardio if that chills you out, drama avoidance, avoiding big projects, avoiding competition) regardless of what your blood test shows. IMO the lower the testosterone levels for swaying pink, the better! In regards to the supplements to lower testosterone (Saw Palmetto, etc) , personally I don't think they've been showing fantastic results anyways and unless they are in your custom plan or atomic specificially tells you to take them I think it's best to lower testosterone by changing your lifestyle (if possible).

I second what bluebonnet said. Also, walking should help to get your insulin in check which would benefit your body and ttc girl.

I don't want anyone to do "testosterone lowering activities". They DON'T WORK and are just another thing to "swaycess" over. http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gender-swaying-general-discussion/33517-maternal-dominance-hypothesis-priviledged-daughter-hypothesis.html

Yes, I'd still have you take the supplements to lower T if they're working for you.

WE don't even KNOW that testosterone is swaying. There is not a single study in existence that has ever tracked blood levels of testosterone in relation to gender. The study that BB posted could be coincidental and not causal. Testosterone has not been shown to affect women's personalities so I am skeptical of the "personality quiz" nature of many of the results in that study.

RE blood sugar - we also don't know if "blood sugar levels" in and of themselves mean anything at all. Even if blood sugar levels sway, it may be changes in those levels that matter (as in, yours were higher, they're now lower, that's still good even if htey're higher than normal) and not something we can tell off of a number on a blood test.

I would not worry about EITHER of these test results. I want you to do what has worked for people (and in your case with PCOS you will need to do one of the alternate diets here) http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gender-swaying-general-discussion/9052-swaying-under-special-circumstances-part-3-pcos.html and not worry about fine tuning things that we simply do not have any data whatsoever, to even KNOW about. :)
