Help lovely ladies. I'm in turmoil this morning. As some of you might know my mum recently passed away quite suddenly. I spent the evening with my stepdad last night and he mentioned that she had a few premium bonds that will now go to me and my brother. The short story is that we may get about £15,000 unexpectedly, which means that going to California for HT could now be a possibility! I'd always said I'd want to do it if we had the money, but now I'm scared of what it all involves and that I've been on LE for nine months of the last twelve, so may have reduced my fertility meaning would we be successful conceiving on HT or waste our money?! I need help thinking this through and don't have my Mum now to ask advice! We were probably going to attempt next cycle but now I don't know what to do.

Hi pretesting will take at least a month because it's on certain cycle days. I'd have your pretesting and free consult and go from there.
I don't know about the LE part of it but as long as you have been taking folic and pre testing ok I wouldn't worry, they only seemed to want healthy BMI. That's a long time on LE- what willpower!

If do the free consult because that costs nothing- http://genderdreaming.com/forum/announcements/46690-link-contact-form-dr-potter-hrc.html

And like the pp says, your protesting will give you an idea of how challenging it may be.

I'm excited for you! Do you know how many attempts you're prepared for?

I am considering this in 1,5-2 yrs... I'll be older, and my odds won't be good... So I'm trying to learn what I can as I go, from people like yourself.

Well I know everyone says that you should plan for two or three cycles as the first is sort of a trial run in terms of selecting the correct drug protocol that suits you. But we only really have the money for one try and the childcare for that is so tricky that it seems unlikely we'd get to go again if we were unsuccessful. Hopefully we'll be lucky first time!

We're not in a very different situations. We are figuring out where the money is coming from when the time comes. I would have to travel and I'm thinking that Dh and I will travel together and that he will return home right away and I will stay.
What do you know about donor embryos? I'm catching wind that they can sometimes provide donor embryos with pgd at like nearly 1/2 the cost.
