View Full Version : Clomid as a swayer not as a necessity - where from ?

Mum23boys

Now don't shoot me - I know a lot of you NEED clomid to conceive and that taking it shouldn't be take lightly - that there are rules to follow and research to be done so im not looking to be shot down for asking about it but where do those of you that are using it without it being prescribed getting it from ?
I have 1 daughter after 3 sons and am considering trying again but would like to use clomid but cant seem to source it ( uk )
Thanks

Maiden could you PM me too please? I'm going to mention it to my GP but on the off chance he won't prescribe it, it'd be really handy to know somewhere reputable to get it in Europe!

Hey you asked the question I've been dying to know for awhile now. No judging here! I'm from Canada and it's quite hard to find even online...
I will be asking my doc for it, and basically lying trough my teeth to get it, but that being said I don't think he'll give it to me.
Just a gut feeling.

Well I suffer with anxiety disorder, have done since the birth of my first DS over 3 years ago. I am going back to see him to discuss coming off my meds, like how to wean off them with a view to TTC later this year (Sept/Oct/Nov hopefully!) and when I tell him I'm hoping to start TTC I will tell him honestly how I feel. Like how I can't seem to get past this need for a DD and its been there since DS1 arrived when I thought he was a girl and it took longer to bond with him as a result - not disappointment exactly but that massive surprise just had a long lasting effect on how I felt and definitely contributed to my need for medication post natally. He's usually great for being sympathetic so I am just being hopeful at this point. I might be barking up the wrong tree entirely but I'm a terrible liar so honesty is the way to go for me!

But you're not going to tell him it's for "swaying" specifically are you? Just that you want to try again? I will be amazed if he/she gives it to you if that's the case. I am also a terrible liar but I will be stretching the truth. I have literally a 3 month window (2 really, the 3rd as a last ditch attempt). The part im lying about is the length I've been Ttc. They will not help us here if we've been trying less than a year (I think it's 6months after a certain age though...) so I'm going to say 9 months and that I only have this window.

PLEASE ladies, DO NOT go and tell your doctor that this is for gender swaying. They will a) not believe you anyway as this is not common knowledge and b) immediately decide they will not give it to you because that seems to be the way that most doctors roll. They either hand it out indiscriminately or refuse it even when medically indicated just from sheer cussedness :/

Go in, tell them you have been TTC for a year unsuccessfully and/or that your cycles are really long and irregular and/or that your LP is short but don't act like you're reading it off a list, either. Don't mention the C word, don't mention that you want a girl, you just want a baby and you need their help to get it. They will USUALLY prescribe Clomid (not always, but usually). If they don't, say thank you and leave the office. If they want to do bloodwork first, that's ok, if they want to do it that day, you have a pressing engagement that you cannot miss, if they want to schedule you a different day you can tell them that something came up and you changed your mind about TTC. If you end up having to go through with it, just be like "oh gosh how wonderful I had a nice normal cycle, that hasn't happened in forever."

DO NOT go in asking for Clomid and/or freaking out if they don't give it to you. You'll never get it that way.

That sounds like a good idea. And roughly the truth too which is always good ;) I think I will just let it play out and see what happens when I bring it up. We are a long way off ttc just yet, well around 6 months so I'm going to try and make a decent attempt at our sway. Working up my exercise time (45 mins walking again tonight, that's the third this week) and cut red meat, drinking slightly more caffeine than usual, being as laidback as my personality will allow lol. That's a hard one!! If closer to our attempt I feel I could say it to my doc and have a reasonable shot of getting it then I will ask. Though that being said DH isn't overly keen on the possibility of multiples so we will just have to see. A friend of mine was ttc for 6 months and cried in her doctors office, she came out with a script for Clomid. You never can tell!!

Just checking that im reading this right and understanding, are we to aim to avoid blood work? I know mine would not do it in the office and would give me a requisition form to go have blood done at a lab.

My doctor would do the blood work there and then so if avoiding bloodwork is the way to go maybe I'd be best not mentioning anything regarding ttc to my doctor...

This is probably ludicrous to consider. So don't beat me around lol i just have to ask.

I know that it can be hard to get it in Canada, so I am looking online. I'm wondering now if anyone else (hopefully in Canada) has bought online with success.

Like I would literally drive to Buffalo or Detroit from where I am to be able to get this stuff. I'm very tempted to try and get an American friend to work with me on this, but my closest on is in Vermont. Or maybe Ohio.

This is a completely stupid question I'm sure but is Clomid easily available in the US?

As a side note I was with our doctor earlier today, DS2 has viral bronchitis AGAIN. It wasn't my usual GP, I went to the paediatrician in the surgery. He was telling me about how he and his wife had two girls and they were desperate for a boy so they made a load of lifestyle changes like diet and exercise and went on to have two boys. They had another girl and then a final boy recently. He fully believes that diet is key - if I hadn't heard of this website I think my mind would have been blown to hear someone talking that way! Let alone someone in the medical profession!!! As I left the office he was loudly telling DH to make sure to have a "good 3 or 4 more" kids lol. DH was less than impressed ;)

No, but some people's doctors want to do blood work and then they panic over it because they really are ovulating normally. I'm just explaining what to do in that scneario.

You don't need to avoid bloodwork, but if you go in saying one thing and they want to do bloodwork and you are concerned it will show something you don't want them to see (as in, that you are ovulating perfectly fine) then some people get scared about this.

Ladies, this all gets very complicated and at some point so stressful that it is best just to skip the entire idea and just sway normally. Still good results.

No, it isn't easily available in the US but perhaps slightly more so than in Britain where I am often shocked that people with legitimate medical need for Clomid are denied because the doctor decides that they have enough children. :( Not cool

I am so thinking this right now. I am actually very excited that I have a sway worked out in my head, everything seems less daunting once you can wrap your head around the ins and outs of a natural sway. For now I am going to drop the idea of Clomid (unless of course I medically require it further down the line) and focus on my diet, cardio and avoiding stress/drama. So far I think I am doing ok and the thought of swaying and getting an opposite doesn't upset me or worry me like it used to. Roll on the attempt :) Pink dust to everyone :fx:

Hopper me too. I came to terms with a 5th boy and can totally envision him in my life, but tbh Dh and I kinda want twins - and then be done for life. Swaying for twins is something we just started to talk about at great length. I'm going to keep on the lookout. But if I haven't got it by sway time im ok with it.

I understand. On a side note, I don't think I did o this month... Probably just bc of my cycle being fresh back? This month would have been the best time to ask maybe and do the blood work. I won't be seeing him until after my trip (and AF is due then).

I found a website last night that sells it - not sure if it is the legit stuff or not - I think it was $40 for 30pills (50mg - Generic brand) and then postage..... The more you bought the cheaper the price per unit becomes. Would you think it is dodgy? This is the pic of if? 24691

So I had that first one after having ds 4. I'm only on cd 18 but have not got a pos opk, so I'm just feeling a little odd about it. Other oddities too but it could all be related to the diet or vitex too maybe.

Ya I looked online too. 2 of the drugs stores I found in Canada wanted a real rx. The other one I was gonna press go but needed to set up an account. Idk what brand name Clomid looks like, but I found a guy on kijiji that's selling it in with weight lifting drugs. Now THAT seems shady lol but I'm sooo tempted, although I'll likely get hauled away in handcuffs - it's just seems wrong. I think the online way is easier.
Also are either of you from canada? Getting stuff into canada is harder, you could order and have it seized (and I have no idea what follows that...)

If you are still taking vitex, stop and see if you ovulate.

Lots of men take Clomid for weightlifting as it blocks estrogen. Makes them much more "cut" because they get very low body fat.

Again, is it worth the risk (even if small)? Probably not because we get similar results wtih 12+ weeks on diet, exercise, and one attempt.

You guys have me between a rock and a hard place here because if you DO get it the "wrong" way, I want to help everyone take it safely (because too many people take it wrongly or dangerously) , but just so you guys know I do not endorse this in any way shape or form and really really prefer you get from your doctor legitimately or do without.
