I tired to exercise yesterday to improve my weight loss and away however I can only run for about 20 minutes without being totally puffed out. I can't go to the gym as no time, what does everyone else do to make it up to an hour?

I'm not desperately unfit but only walk everywhere usually, don't play sport.

I am walking at a fast pace for just under an hour 3-4 days a week (well this week being my first week lol). My sway isn't until late Sept/early Oct at the soonest so between now and July I will build up to 6 days of 60 minutes walk/jogging. I used to jog before getting pregnant on my eldest DS 4 years ago but my stamina has gone out the window from years of inactivity. I reckon building up to the required 60 minutes over time is the way to go, at least for me.

Just walk fast at this point, for part or all of the hour. Work up to it. Walking is great fot pink!

I agree build up gradually to 60 mins I will need to as I'm so unfit it's unreal lol! I'm not big just not fit lol! When I'm going to my exercise though I'm going to do wii fit cardio exercises an hour a day as it's hard for me to get out running and have zero time to get to the gym.

Thanks ladies, good idea to build it up. I struggle with time too so I definitely won't be exercising 6 days a week but will aim for 3-4. I am doing the pcos le very loosely so according to that any exercise is better than none so that's why I've added it in. I start ttc in May and am nervous that I'm not doing enough. I've only just started losing weight and that's really just from cutting out sugary snacks. I read that 12 weeks or more is optimal time so I'm hoping we don't get bfp straight away. It took 6 months with my son!

Good luck for your sways :)

I have never been a runner but I started using the treadmill when ds2 has his afternoon nap and I would run for 15 min and then walk for 15 then run 15 and walk the last 15. I am now running the full 60 minutes and I do about 11km . If I can do it anyone can, its hard work but obviously as you get fitter your speed goes up . But I guess that's the goal " To wear yourself out".
You will get there. It took me 2 months to build it up to the full 60 minutes

Don't run. Walk.

I am honestly not a fan of running for women as a general rule, I think it causes too many injuries. Walking is fine.

Atomic, if you're interested in long distance running I can give tips too. You definitely have to work up to it! I would walk for up to 3 hours daily for weeks, just to get the mileage, until I felt my injuries were warmed up enough to handle running. Although I have to agree it's not all that great for the body, I absolutely love it once I'm into it. I kinda hate walking bc it feels so slow/lazy!

I don't think I'll ever be able to run. I have tried off and on since I was in my teens and get injured literally every time. I think I have really flexible joints or something. BUt I DO need to get back into good shape, I just do better with things like Taebo and stepping where I can adjust the intensity to not kill myself. Thank you guys though!!!!

I actually have such loose/hypermobile joints one dr thought I had a severe disorder. It's all about easing into things. But if you don't really enjoy running I don't recommend it.

How about yoga? I use this very fast pace intense yoga video. ..it kicked my ass! (And I'd been running 7 miles a day plus doing 20 minutes pilates daily for months.) I felt like I had been run over by a truck the next day. But within weeks I had more muscle than I've ever had and was super toned and fit. It was amazing!

I actually did get injured. I had a twisted pelvis which was so painful and I could hardly walk. I had to go to the chiropractor and had massages weekly it came good tho.. luckily!!

Ouch that sounds dreadful! I must say, every time I've tried to push myself too far/much early on after not having run in a while (ie always) I end up injuring myself. I'm so impatient and anxious to get back up to my previous fitness level but it really shouldn't be forced.

Yep I'm in the same boat so what I do is run for a bit and the hoof it. If my heart rate gets too low I run again. Sometimes like 90 seconds lol then walk again. Repeat. I have a polar on order to help me make sure I've got my intensity up enough (still figuring out what "enough" is...)

I had a preconceived notion that we weren't supposed be get fit. Bogus? I thought the goal was to not build muscle and just be thin. Bc if yoga and Pilates are good for pink that's way more my style.

Well, I"m not swaying, i just need to get back in shape so I think everyone's trying to inspire me! Thanks guys!!

RE heart rate, I don't want you guys paying attention to that. Just another thing to obsess over. Just do cardio exercise that makes you breathe a little fast and keep it up for 60 minutes.

That's the reason I want it - to relax when I work out. Right now I feel im thinking about an I working enough, whereas I can set it and forget it (it will beep if I dip too low) and then I can also log the work out properly too. Maybe it's obsessing for some, but for me it's something that will make me chill a little more about it and just go work out, bc without it I "over think" it.

Hitme, my recommendation was for atomic and non pink swayers only! The yoga video I used is not relaxing at all, it's extremely intense.

Oops haha! Well, maybe I'll stick to my run/walk/jog smash up thing I do for now ;)

I cannot give recommendations on heart rate for people. there is just too much variation. I would not push myself too hard.

I'm going to stay in the fat burn zone which is lower than cardio - bc I can do it for an hour. I'm done thinking about it now [emoji8]
