Hi Ladies,
I am getting a plan etc, but in the meantime I am wanting to know - with the skipping breakfast thing... is it still ok to have a cup of tea in the morning? (peppermint)
Thanks in advance :)

I think a cup of peppermint tea would be just fine. As long as you're not breastfeeding that is. There's virtually no cals in the tea so I should imagine it'd be fine, unless someone knows otherwise :)

Thanks Dreamofpink - I have been sitting here staring at the cupboard waiting! Lol.... :) I am trying to tell myself that I will start the diet etc once my plan is ready, but I know I should start little things that I know already, like skipping breakfast, no snacking. (but I am sooooooo hungry!! haha!)

Take baby steps, try eating vegetarian today & not snacking. Ease yourself into it & push back brekkie by a bit rather than trying to go at it full on. It's not easy at first but you get used to it & it gets so much easier. After a few weeks to a month it'll feel like second-nature :)

I wonder if it helps that I have dinner at 5pm, so we have finished eating by 6pm then it would be at least 14hrs before b/fast.. and I could prob push through til 10am, so that would make a fasting break of 16hrs. I will remember to ask Atomic when my plan comes through :)

Any unsweetened or artificially sweetened drink in the am is fine.
Some of us (myself included) cheated on this and had a small amount of sugar in coffee and still got girls.
I do think coffee is pinker than tea, though. :)

Maybe I should try and MAKE myself start drinking coffee... I tried once (just the cheap packet kind) and it gave me an upset tummy and I had to put loads of hot chocolate (drinking choc/cocoa) in it to make it taste better - as normally I am a hot chocolate kinda girl.....
Is it milk coffee or do you have to have black - cause if it's black, there is no way that is happening! Lol

I have one of those skim nescafe brand Cappuccinos. I add 2 equal sugars to it and a dash of milk

I have an Aldi Coffee pod machine, so I have 1 cup of coffee (coffee pod) with warm frothy light milk 98.5% Fat Free and half a sugar, really need to drop the sugar though.
I am a tea addict, so I really need to drop that and find something else to drink. I was drinking the peppermint tea, no milk, no sugar, but found it gave me such a dry throat.
Cant wait for my plan to see what recommended for me.

PP - I am a tea addict too!! Although I have only been having Green tea with mint and have now swapped to Peppermint.
I have an Aldi machine too - but don't like coffee...haha, we only used it for Hot Chocolates :)
I could prob hold my nose and skull a lukewarm coffee if I had too :shemademe:

PP - I had a look at the coffee pods this morning in Aldi, there were new boxes there (well new to me, not the standard coffee range) saying Caramel Latte and Cappuccino and I think Latte - are they the ones you use? The ingredients said made with skim milk powder.... Wonder which one would be best to try?
Pinkin - they may be similar to what you use?
Hi Shellburke77 - when will you be looking at starting TTC? You may be around the same time as PinkPony and I? About 2-3 months time?

I have had the Caramel Latte and the Cappuccino before, I liked them both :)
Will check the ingredients when I go to Aldi next time.

I had milk coffee with whole milk or even half and half (this can be a way to get some fat on LE Diet, which you do need at least 25 g per day, and most people need more than that.)
Real coffee is so so so much better than the cheap packet types, those are gross even for veteran coffee drinkers. That having been said, coffee can be a very good...ahem...laxative so that does seem to be one of the side effects.
All I can say is - my 4 boys were when I was drinking tea, my girl was coffee. It may totally be coincidence, but I figure it doesn't hurt to switch them.

Yep, the laxative affect got me when I tired to take up drinking coffee! So if I were to get a coffee from a café - would I ask for a weak cappuccino made on skim? And then add some splenda/equal as the sweetner?
For coffee lovers out there - what is the difference between a latte and a cappuccino anyways? :suprise:

Can u just order a cup of coffee?? I feel like the various types of coffee may have more milk than you really want (and also a ton of cals)
What I would have is just regular old coffee with a bit of cream or milk, and sugar (this was my cheat) or you could have artificial sweetener.
Lattes have more milk in them. Cappuchinos can be quite strong and if you are not used to coffee, I would start with a latte or regular coffee and not a capuchino/espresso.

Hey groovynae, I'm thinking of ttc starting around August.. Haven't received my plan yet, hopefully soon but I'm guessing I should start cutting down my meat intake at the least. I wonder how much the diet will be customized for the Aus product market? I'm sure we can help each other with suggestions. Have you made many changes to your diet/life yet?

I have made quite a few changes already :) I am skipping breakfast, drinking coffee, trying to exercise more, sticking to the 1500cals and no meat/chicken/fish or full dairy etc.
I am hoping to start in July - but will see what Atomics plan has in store for me, it may be a suggestion for August also, but I really want to get cracking (impatient person I am ...lol)
Would be good to bounce product ideas off each other and any other Aus ladies that have been through it too :)

Well done! Are you finding the changes okay so far? I conceived my two boys on my normal diet which I can see now is very much the boy diet-I'm not the most conscientious person in certain areas of my life and so I really hope that I can stick to diet/exercise...you must be very busy with your 4 kiddies?! Are you planning on cooking seperate meals for your family?? Guess it depends on our plans...Yep, will definately be keen to share ideas and it seems like there are lots of other Aussie ladies who could help on this site. Are you tracking your cycles too?
ImmiNAddi
April 11th, 2015, 10:23 PM
I have just started tracking cycles with the fertilityfriend website. The changes are ok. The hardest one is the no snacking between meals, especially at the moment with the boys home on school holidays! The other things have been easy enough to change into. I'm not much of a cook, but when I do cook I will just be having simple things for me to eat. I found some vegie burgers in the freezer section at woollies yesterday, so when the boys and hubby were having hamburgers last night, I was able to kind of join in and have my own 'hamburger' with them.
I can see how my old lifestyle was very boy friendly too and the whole stress head/worrying was also me (still is, trying to change that is hard - I am trying to chill out a bit more - that will be easier when the boys go back to school too!! haha!)

Hey girls, I'm a fellow Aussie who swayed pink. I'm 6 weeks pregnant now. Just wanted to wish you both all the best.. The diet can be hard at first but it does get easier. I found that because I had such an important goal in mind I found it easier to stick with the diet and exercise than if I was just trying to lose weight. If I can help in anyway you only have to ask xxx

Your plan is done and I believe it's posted now, but I did want to clarify that I don't do personalized diets but that I work with you in the custom forum (remember, you get coaching for 6 months too) to iron out the diet specifics using the foods that YOU like and are available to you. We soon realized that it would be impossible for me to make diet plans, it would take forever, cost a fortune, and require knowledge into worldwide food selection that is just impossible to have.

We have an Aussie forum and a thread called "Sheilas who want Sheilas" and I think people have posted quite a lot about food and stuff they used in that thread.

Hi Sunbuny, congrats on your girl!! What did a typical days eating look like for you? Any particular products you would recommend? What do you think were the most important parts of your sway?

Hi Shell, I hope you're right but I actually don't know what I'm having yet. I'm only 6 weeks, 4 days. Still have a while to go before I find out...
But typically I would wake early, exercise for an hour, then have an instant coffee with skim milk. I might have another coffee at around 10. At lunch I'd generally have a white bread roll with cheese and salad and sometimes I'd add a vegetarian Pattie ( homemade ). Lots of coke zero. Usually another coffee at around 3pm and then something simple for dinner. I ate alot of plain pasta with butter, salt and pepper. Also gnocchi with a tomato based sauce. I'd still get take away weekly but stuck with vegetarian noodles. Hope this helps..
I completely quit tea whilst swaying. This was a massive change to my normal diet which is typically boy diet ( without realizing ).
I highly recommend my fitness pal app if you don't already have it. Takes the guess work out of monitoring protein, calories and fat intake. And you can scan products.

Oh sorry, I thought you already knew-my fingers are crossed for you!!
Your diet sounds good...how many calories were you having? So is a normal white roll okay to have? How long were you on the diet before you conceived? I'm nervous that because I'm older, I will take a while ttc and might be on the diet for 6 months or more..which I think would be HARD! And yes, I'm going to log todays food on my fitness pal to see how it all works.

I was eating around 1800 calories per day at the end of the diet including one serve of full fat dairy as advised by Atomic. I was losing too much weight (in my opinion) but this was probably also due to the amount of exercise I was doing. I've always like to exercise but never 60mins per day of cardio 6 times per week prior to the sway. It did take me longer to conceive this time around but I think this was more of a timing issue (we missed ovulation one month, were too far from ovulation another month etc).
I wish you all the best and am always to be a support if you need it. I know it can be tough going. For me the hardest thing was sticking to the exercise that often because I would have to wake really early to get it out of the way whilst my little boys were asleep, before work etc.

White bread ok on standars LE but should be limited or avoided on the alternate diets.
Remember - while so many of us feel very tense about TTC over the age of 35 and assume it will take forever, we actually find that the majority of gals who have had kiddos recently (within 3-5 years) and are not over 40, do still get pg quickly. EVen those of us over 40 have had quite good results.
