Hey guys.
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1182141/?tool=pubmed This study is next-to-impossible for the layman to understand, but I just read the book "The 10,000 Year Explosion" by Gregory Cochran and Henry Harpending and it discusses this study at length.
In short, people of African descent carry a genetic difference that makes them much more likely to retain salt in their bodies, probably as a prevention mechanism against dehydration and electrolyte imbalance while living in hotter climates. Research indicates this may be a major reason why African-Americans have higher rates of hypertension - their bodies cannot rid themselves of salt as easily as Asians and Europeans can.
It is not worth anyone's health or wellbeing to sway!!!
