If it takes 90 days for your egg to form or whatever, does it really matter if I make changes this month? I'm not really understanding the lifecycle of an egg and if the health of it has already been determined 90 days ago will that effect my sway today? Or the same in reverce, if I was really sick 90 days ago and at a really low weight and I slip and gain weight or cheat really bad this month, or even just have lots of sex leading up to O does it matter? I'm not planing on doing any of these things but it just has me wondering!

From my understanding some people believe that if you make changes at the beginning of the 90 days it can make the egg more receptive to either girl or boy sperm, I think that is determined over the course of the 90 days as a whole not any one day where you may have a cheat etc. I've seen atomic say that 12+ weeks on the diet is yielding best results so maybe there is some truth in it. I have been on the diet since January and I'm in the process of ttc now. When are you going to ttc? I don't think bd pattern and frequency matters at all when you are not in your attempt month but if you are in your attempt month I think it's recommended that people bd every 4 days which means you only have one attempt in the fertile window (which is what atomic strongly advises). I hope that helps and makes sense, I'm sure someone else will correct anything I've said if it's wrong.

Thanks Mandy. I have been on the diet for about 5 months now, and have been ttc for 2 months. March I did not ovulate and April Although I ovulated still no BFP. I was only wondering because I lost a lot of weight really fast and am going to need to start adding in a little more calories or 3 meals and not just my 2! I don't want to have done all this work just to have 2 weeks where I eat a little more to blow the hole thing! Also I'm really scared with summer around the corner I will not be able to stick to the diet. Can't spend my summer with no hotdogs or big hamburgers!

If swaying works, it's because your body has received some signal that a boy pregnancy has a better shot of survival. I do not believe that it is ONLY a 90 day time period that registers with your body. I think you get signals 120 days ago and 2 days ago and everything in between, and it's the cumulative effect that sways. So don't get too focused in on the 90 day idea. We have seen better results with 90 days or longer on diet but we have no way of knowing if that has anything to do with the egg development. It's just one idea.

You are asking me things I have no idea about. I just honestly can't say what matters and what doesn't. Do the doable, let go of the rest.

Virtually everyone loosens up on the diet after that amount of time and still gets good results. It is fine to start eating more!

You're welcome :-) I have loosened up a little on the diet now, I don't snack and don't have breakfast but I will have the odd bit of meat every now and then, I figure it can't hurt after nearly 4 months of being quite good, if you follow the diet 80% of the time that will say more to your body than the 20% where you don't. Good luck :-)

^^^^ plus, to nail the diet the remaining 20% of the time, takes this level of constant vigilance and effort that probably sways blue anyway. So you make yourself miserable only to undermine your sway anyway.

The people who were always perfectly perfect in every way on diet are also the ones who got opposites.
