I am starting to freak out about this swaying thing. My attempt is in October, which is just around the corner. I am not sure I will be ready! I don't feel like I am doing the diet right (I keep losing weight!) and I am worried about ions, the moon and everything else. I guess I need a pep talk. Anyone else freaking out?

me! im trying in oct too. at 1st i was like GOSH i still have like 3 mos to go its so far away i want a baby already..but now its almost mid aug and i hope im doing everything right!
im wondering like others have speculated if yorue losing weight bc youre eating healthier than before the start of the diet. how did you eat before and how do you eat now? are you exerciseing?
honestly i gained a lot on this diet initially but thats bc i was doing small portions and little to no carbs to lose the weight 1st. but once my body adjusted, ive plateaued. if anything ive added a 2nd bowl of cereal to my day bc ive been feeling hungrier on this ever so large caloric menu!!! and i dont think im gaining much from that.
how long has it been since you started dieting? id give it about 2-4weeks before your body starts to adjust.
as far as ions/moons ppl have conceived both genders under varying environments. thats just my opinion...

Me! :nails:
I've not put much thought into ttc before, we knew we wanted another baby and we just went for it - but so much preparation has gone into this one that I've had time to worry! For ages it's been a long time in the future but suddenly we're ttc NEXT CYCLE!!! ... and DH keeps dropping bombshells like 'are you sure we can handle another baby' and 'I really need to lose weight'. Yes and No!!
Sorry, you wanted a pep talk didn't you, I was just panicing with you instead :D

This was ME! Our 1st was a total accident, our 2nd we were not trying/not preventing, and this one was like, a year in advance. I was on the diet NINE months before our 1st attempt! And we moved it up, otherwise I too was going to go for an October conception ... but after nine months I was just ready to give it a go. I was tired of thinking about getting pregnant and ready to just actually do it.
Hobber it is NORMAL to freak out I think ... even if you weren't swaying, it should be stressful to think about adding another one, when you consider the time, energy, and of course money we put into raising our babies. But swaying adds this whole new level of pressure because suddenly you've created a situation where just getting pregnant isn't success enough, KWIM? We're going a step beyond and trying to influence the actual gender, because we're all crazy like that:rofl: Thank goodness there are places like this where our crazy feels normal
You will do GREAT! Even if your diet hasn't been perfect to date just keep remembering protein + carbs, eat your breakfast, take your vitamins, and have some BD  You can do this!!!

I am glad I am not alone! Thanks for the responses, everyone. It makes me feel better. I have been eating breakfast (dates and nuts), lots of beef jerky, tomatoes, potatoes (chips and fries), V8 w/ nutritional yeast, beef, chicken, and a bedtime snack. I also have been taking all my supps...
My DH has been really naughty, though! The kids and I were out of town, and he was supposed to eat his diet food (I am trying to get him to lose weight) and he ate all kinds of crap instead! I came home and found a bunch of junk food in the house :sigh: so I have to start him back on his diet today.

DHs!!!!! Leave them to their own vices and they are like teenage boys again! I think your diet sounds good, though. All the girls said it so well already, no need for me to repeat, but yea, I think we all freak a bit (or a lot). I am freaking right now myself because this first round of ttc again on Clomid didn't work, and I am afraid of how much more weight I will gain if I keep this up another few months. Well, just know you are doing a good job with diet and supps and hey, that is a lot!!!!! What did you do for your DS? For some reason, I am having brainfog and can't remember if you swayed or not, sorry!

I didn't sway for DS. We just BD every day I was fertile. I had gained a little weight before I conceived him, but other than that, I don't have any idea what I did to help the boy swimmers out.
Don't worry, you will get a BFP Lola!! I just know it!

Hobber, you're in such a good spot for TTC even without swaying because you know 100% that you guys can make both boys and girls!
You're going to do great! Keep after it!!!

Oh and FWIW Hobber I wouldn't fret about DH! If your bean ends up :DD: since he didn't do his part for the sway it is CLEARLY all on him

Well, the problem is, I am the one who pushed for another baby, and I am the one who wants a boy. He couldn't care less. So I am not sure what to do to motivate him....

EXACTLY!!! I SO feel ya on that. My husband gave a rat's a$$ about gender (in fact he actively did not want a girl) and if I would have pushed the issue with swaying he would have been like, "fine, no baby then."
I think it's so awesome when I see husbands that are supportive!

I think you just do the best you can, Hobber, and don't worry too much about DH....tons of them don't help with swaying and everything turns out fine!

I know. You are a lucky lady--your DH is being really co-operative, isn't he? Mine started out that way, but he is really not taking things as seriously as I want him too. He won't stop drinking beer, or smoking his "special cigarettes", and isn't working very hard to lose weight (he lost 10 lbs and then stopped trying). I guess I need to just do what I can, and hope the rest falls into place!

I am afraid this is what will happen if I push too hard too!!

KFX and TX that it isn't an issue!
PS - this may be one case where beer and special ciggies are actually working FOR you when TTC a boy!! ;) If he gets too uptight, you def. know how to relax him haha.
