Hi everyone. I don't know if I mentioned this before, but I'm an OB/GYN nurse. I've decided to make my own compilation of my pts responses to the question "how did you have your boys?" Lol. Just to see what they say. So I asked one who has 1 girl and is pregnant with her 4th boy, " how did you make all of them boys?" Now mind you, she is someone my age and we have the relationship where she wouldn't mind me asking her. Her reply was "girl, use a vinegar douche before sex. I wanted my boys." I said "I thought you douche with vinegar for girls?" She said "nope, the one time I didn't, I had my girl".....Interesting

Her body perhaps produced a lot of CM to counteract the vinegar, which could have contributed to her having boys? xx

Vinegar does not sway blue, of that I am certain. bump this because I have some thoughts.

Maybe she had copious EWCM usually thus why she douched so much; many women from a certain generation are all about douching and consider CM, especially in excess, icky. But then at one point in her life her CM dried up due to unintentionally swaying pink (tired, sick, not eating well, nursing, etc) and so that's why she didn't douche that time, bc she didn't feel she needed to. Makes it SEEM like vinegar douche is a magic bullet but really it was about WHY she was douching. Just one theory!

Or maybe she had an STD or chronic BV which made her natural reproductive environment hostile to sperm, swaying pink. So the vinegar in her case actually improved her internal chemistry and enabled her natural fertility to shine through, voilą boys! This one seems less likely to me though.

The way that I look at swaying always is through the lens of the "Fertility Hypothesis" which is just that higher fertility = more (not all) boys, lower fertility but still able to conceive = more (not all) girls, and too low of fertility = no baby. The problem is that this f-es up stats and experiences considerably because when a person is enjoying high fertility, they can shake off things that might sway pink for some and inhibit conception totally, for others.

Further complicating matters, fertility is not a set point, it changes by the month. Thus, is totally possible that people's fertility rises and falls at various types of their lives, even MONTHS of their lives, and so during certain time periods, it can be possible for someone to do things that sway pink but still have boys. If you conceive in a month when you're 85% likely to have a boy, and do things that sway even 15% pink (which is huge) that is still 70% likely to have a boy. Hence, it is absolutely possible for someone to THINK they get boys because of vinegar douching (or some other thing) if they did that coincidentally during times in their lives when they were highly fertile and to THINK they got a girl when they stopped, because maybe they were lower in fertility during that point in time and the douching was actually preventing pregnancy until they dropped it. Douching is known to be quite bad for fertility and so just that someone is able to do it and still get pregnant regularly indicates to me that they probably were able to shake it off.

That is why we have to look at people's results as a whole instead of going off anecdotes. But at the same time we also have to look at anecdotes because so much of swaying is the all/nothing paradigm where doing X sways like this ALWAYS no matter what and when anecdotally we see people drinking tons of coffee and alcohol and getting girls, it starts to not add up that these things sway blue (and in fact they don't and we're getting good success with them). So it's a fine line to walk and a lot to consider which is why the stats on sway sites are not worth as much as people believe them to be, because the groups of people who use various sway tactics are really "people who were able to get pregnant using these things" and not just a random sample. This can skew the stats HUGELY as in the case of breastfeeding.
