View Full Version : Planned sway is going horribly

I've done a lot of research on what and how to eat, as well as how to exercise to sway for a boy. I have been doing horribly at following my plan, which is so unlike me. I usually stick to things perfectly. I think part of the problem is I am still a little flabby from my last pregnancy and was hoping to be much more toned by this point. I know I'm not eating enough and I even have been sneaking diet cokes here and there. Dh and I have not been taking our supplements regularly either. The only thing I think I've done right is exercise and I might even be doing too much of that since I alternate 30 minutes or running and 30 minutes of Insanity most days of the week.

I'm so upset with myself because I wanted to have my first attempt in two weeks and now I will have to wait at least 6. I just need a place to vent and feel sorry for myself for a minute. Uuuughhh!!!! :(

Firstly don't beat yourself up, it's not easy changing your lifestyle overnight. Sometimes we need to start slowly, ease into the changes and then add in more as we go along.
I remember way back at the beginning of me making changes I said to my Mom I just didn't feel I was doing it and she repled "I guess it boils down to how strongly you really want it" it somehow hit home that I want this enough to knuckle down and put the work in. When I'm doing weights and I'm maybe not enjoying it I use that time to visualize why I'm doing it, the end goal.
Are you sure you are not just panicking? I have done this and thought I'm doing awful but when I calm down I realize I'm actually doing really well. This might be the case for you too.
Decide today that you are going to do this and do your best from now :)

I drank a load of diet coke when I had both my boys so I wouldnt worry too much about that, I personally would just stick to weights for exercise and try to make sure you're looking after your health, so eating multi vitamins, add salt to things, I had lots of snacks too xx

I know how you feel Quinn, it's really, really tough. As TrueBlue say,I thinks focussing on the end goal is the only way to get enough motivation to do it, although it can seem so far away that it is hard! I found it helped when I made a little checklist of things to do at certain times of the day (supps, eating, drinks etc) so I can tick them off once done. The weight gain is tough too, I have now gained almost a stone on HE diet, but if it gets me my boy it will be well worth it! I reckon just go hard and fast now, give it your all, otherwise you will end up having to skip TTC months and then the whole process goes on even longer!

But most of all, sending you a hug!!! :hugs::bluecheer: we're all here to cheer you on!

Huge hugs Quinn - I think that sometimes we forget that the HE Diet is just as tough for blue swayers as LE is for pink. :)

I do want to stress to you that of the custom plans I have done, aside from men smoking, the number one thing that I see contributing to opposites is lack of compliance on HE Diet. The gals who skip meals and worry about their weight are often the ones that get girl opposites. So if that helps to motivate you at all - that is def. the trend I have seen with the custom swayers!!

Thanks so much everyone!! I really appreciate it. I actually had to stay away a few days because I was feeling crazy. My cycle is just now regulating since my DD very recently turned one and is slowly weaning. I think this is a good time to get serious about my sway because my body is probably getting back to normal from my last pregnancy.

Thank you so much for the virtual hugs and support, I need it Thanks Atomic for the advice about diet It's going to be hard for me but I'm just going to make sure that I'm constantly eating clean and a good variety of protein, vegetables, fruits, and good carbs. I am such an LE eater by nature!! Plus it's hard to consider gaining weight when I just got back to my pre-pregnancy weight.

One last question...Can I run 30 minutes a day (about 3 miles) and on the alternate day do 30 minutes of Insanity? I feel like it's high intensity interval workouts, a lot of jumping and push-ups Is that okay? Can I do this 6 days a week? I'm really wanting to get physically strong!

30 min. a day is fine, can you do 5 days a week??

You don't have to gain weight on HE Diet. You really don't. That is how most of us moms with 2-3-4 or more boys eat anyway and we just don't gain on it. Just don't load up on grains and potatoes and you shouldn't gain on just meat, fruit, veg, and dairy.
