Hello all, I'm new here but not quite sure why or if I should here really as dh isn't really keen on having another baby 😳 however, we have two boys already and I would love to have a girl. I'm having my coil out and we were supposed to be taking precautions in the week leading up to its removal but he hasn't despite me reminding him after the first time we dtd in this period! He wants me to go on the POP when the coil is out but I don't want to use anything (for obvious reasons) but o have agreed to give it a go but he's not really pushing the issue at the moment so I may not do anything as he's being a bit lax about it. So, long story short, there's potential for an unplanned pg to happen! At the moment, I'm physically at my fittest ive ever been, weight training, running, high protein diet, but from reading on here, this is all very much a blue sway lifestyle. I'm really reluctant to give up my weight training as I've come so far but if we do have another pg, I would like to optimise our chances of a pink. At the same time, giving up my weights (Id have to swap to the 60mins cardio 6x week with at least some body weight exercises for my own sanity) and the dietary overhaul would feel like I'm throwing myself entirely into ttc and a sway for technically an "unplanned" pg, which may or may not work which ultimately would feel disappointing for the fact of putting all that effort in and sacrifice?! Sorry, I'm rambling. Head is a little everywhere at the mo x

How badly do you want a girl over just a baby, regardless of gender?

Thank you

Maidentomother - in all honesty?? I probably feel more strongly about wanting a girl than generally having another baby if that makes sense?! But that probably makes me sound awful a friend with 3 girls said to me "if I knew for sure that no.4 would be a boy, I'd go for it now!" And this was almost immediately after her 3rd - and I get that, I really do!!!x

There are a lot of girls here who have strong gender desire here. It doesn't make you a 'bad' person at all. We all are in the same boat! Welcome, and good luck with your sway x

HI and welcome!

Having the coil just out may sway pink anyway.

What I would do is simply switch SOME weights for cardio, no need to 100% drop them, and then do the modified "atomic fertility diet" which is a healthier, higher protein option. YOu can find that here 5 posts from the top, and while it's a PCOS thread we are using this variation of diet more and more with great results for everyone, not only those with PCOS. http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gender-swaying-general-discussion/9052-swaying-under-special-circumstances-part-3-pcos.html

Above all else, we have gotten great results with having one attempt and only one attempt in the fertile window of O-3 thru O day. NO matter what happens, even if you don't do any other type of sway, limit yourself to one attempt in that window, because for reasons we do not understand, that sways strongly pink for us.

Thank you so much atomic 😊 is there a reason why having the coil out may sway pink (It's a copper coil as oppose to mirena)? I've been suffering with frequent thrush and BV (hence having the coil removed) so I've been taking acidophilus, cranberry tablets, and Apple cider vinegar in a desperate attempt to rectify my vaginal ph and stop any more infections, but to no avail, but I am continuing wit them anyway - would these hinder a girl sway do you think??

So, reduce the number of weight training sessions I do and focus more on the intense cardio? That seems more appealing to me 😀 👍

Thank you ☺️ X

Can I just clarify - O-3 is that ovulation through to 3 days after ovulation??x

just re-read, it's 3 days before to o day.
acidophilus seems to be not getting great results from the stats, also think apple cider vinegar could sway blue xx

Even the copper ones seem to sway pink for reasons we do not know.

We got horrible results with acidophilus for a pink sway and now use it exclusively for blue. It also doesn't help much with yeast and BV because it takes ages for the probiotics to colonize your VJ because it actually has to spread from your rear end up to and inside of the VJ. The best things to do for yeast is eating fresh garlic (not a ton, 1 clove daily will suffice) and using some plain, unsweetened yogurt with all natural cultures (such as Mountain High) as a cream in and around the VJ. I know it sounds kinda gross but it works like a charm for most people - you have to put the microorganisms where they need to be instead of waiting around for them to grow from your rear to your VJ.

Cranberry, I do not believe is safe when TTC (and lots of side effects)and while it was once said to sway pink, we got the same results with it as the overall success rates of the site indicating that it is doing nothing anyway.

ACV has been long believed by some to sway blue. There is mixed data on that and I believe it probably sways pink, but we don't use it for swaying anyway just in case the "old school" sway info is correct (it's not LOL but just in case)

Since these things aren't helping anyway, I urge you to give the garlic/yogurt combo a try, it really works.

O-3 means O minus 3 days, 3 days before ovulation. NOT 3 days before O through ovulation.

I hope your issues clear up soon. I've had 2 copper coils over 6 years and never any issues. I didn't realize they sway pink too, but I did conceive B/G twins 2 cycles after I removed my last one.

Thank you so much atomic!! I've dropped the ACV and will drop the acidophillus now too; hopefully my yeast issues will resolve now my coil is out!

I'll just carry on with the high dose folic acid and possibly start some antihistamines.

I'm going to start the diet you suggested, the higher protein/fat LE - should I still aim to skip breakfast ideally? Only I do a fair amount of my workouts in the morning - I managed this mornings on a protein shake (about 130 kcal) and a banana and it was a killer leg day lol! I'm going to drop my weights workouts to 2-3 times per week and focus more on the cardio around that as usually do some exercise about 6 out of 7 days per week. I'm going onto the POP for the time being (dh adamant not ttc at the mo) but want to get my diet and supps in check before hopefully persuading my dh to ttc no3...!x

Yes still skip breakfast if you can. The rules are differentif you're exercising in the morning and need something though. Go ahead and do the shake and banana in this case. The exercise gets such good results (better than skipping breakfast) so if there's a tradeoff to be made, make it.
