hot baths

I know hot and cold can effect dh and his sperm count but I thought I read somewheres for dw to avoid hot baths while ttcing a girl, and if this is true then why? How does it affect you?

ooh I don't know - I'd have thought it would be the opposite! perhaps a warm uterus is more fertile...

I would think it would effect your ph. Maybe not as much as a pool but to some extent depending on ph of water. Also would wash away any of the effects of Rephresh, Sylk, aci-jel or water you are using.

Yes, there is that, maybe good if you're not using any of that and want to wash away some EWCM - providing there are no bubbles in there!

Well, I suspect that it's just exactly what the others said above, that it has to do with pH. I do know that hot showers for DW are recommended, so you can just hop in the shower instead.

The other thought I had is that perhaps it's because heat ~may~ have a neg. effect on the developing fetus and maybe they are erring on the side of safety. I doubt it matters that early on, but it's always best to be cautious.

The hot bath for DH thing is because heat has a neg. effect on his sperm count/quality and for reasons we don't fully understand, less sperm seems to sway pink. And nothing a DW could do in a tub would help sway pink anyway.

Basically, hot bath for DW does not help and may even hurt (both chances of healthy pg and sway). So err on the side of caution and stick to hot showers.
