View Full Version : Concieving after a chemical pregnancy.

So after some light positive pregnancy tests (they never got dark) I started bleeding today. Does that count as a chemical pregnancy? I don't know the terminology. I'm 8 days late on AF and if I was dating from my last period, it would be 5 weeks 2 days, I think.
Should I wait a month or can I start trying again right away? I read after a miscarriage it sways pink but because I was so early, do you think it would sway? Sigh. It's all so confusing.

I would consider it a chemical and continue trying. Many women never would have even known they were pregnant and I don't think it will have messed up your hormones much at this point. Although I'll let Atomic or someone more knowledgeable chime in. I'm very sorry :(

I don't think chemicals really affect a sway either direction, while I do believe miscarriages later along do.
That is not what I call a chemical though. It was a very early loss. This is a gray area to me. If you feel good about your sway otherwise, I'd probably attempt but there is no harm in skipping it either just to be on the safest side.
ARe you still getting pos pg tests, though??? Just be aware that bleeding in early pregnancy is SUPER common and many of us have had what we thought was "period" only to find out we had stayed pregnant the entire time. I would test again to see if the test is even negative. You won't ovulate again until the test goes negative anyway so better to know.

They're negative now and the bleeding is quite heavy. My Dr is calling tomorrow because I got my blood drawn today to check for HCG levels. Luckily I stuck to my sway during because the + was late.

100% agree with everything atomic said. I'm so sorry fox. I think chemicals can potentially sway blue, especially if you're swaying blue/have a boy friendly lifestyle, as fertility may be increased after a CP. While yours is in the grey area, I'd lean more towards CP bc you never not dark lines (even on a FRER?) and your BFP came late. Is it possible you Oed later than you think and weren't actually as far along? That seems likely to me.

Yeah, the lines never got dark. The only reason I knew was because I threw the test away and then looked in the trash and saw a faint positive. I then got a faint + with a FRER the next day but they were never dark lines like when I was pregnant with my girls.
My betas were 17 and then 10 so quite low. I'm keeping positive about it. Maybe the next cycle will be a sticky bean!

Ashley you need to repost in the ultrasound forum because this is fox's thread. Go to the ultrasound forum and click the button that is marked "post new thread" and then make your own thread. I will leave this up for a couple days and then someone remind me to delete it from fox's thread if you'd be so kind!

Fox, I;m sorry. It is disappointing:(
It is for you to decide whether to try next cycle or not.
I did try right away after the CP and pregnant with a baby boy right now. Also, read/heard that CP boosts the fertility and if you fall pregnant within the next 6 months you have higher chances for a successful pregnancy.
Good luck!
