What counts as the fertile period (where multiple attempts are recommended) in each of the following:
1. IC opk - as soon as dark as control?
2. Clear blue original - as soon as smiley?
3. Clear blue advanced - flashy or solid smiley?

The reason I ask is i don't want to risk multiple attempts in a girl 'window'. Thanks.

1. As dark as control
2. First smiley
3. Solid smiley

There is no 'girl window' DTD every 2-4 days once AF ends then 3-5 attempts from your first positive opk :)

Thanks for reply. Let me rephrase 'girl window'. What I meant was, frequent release tends to sway girl and if DH is releasing daily over a period of day 4 days (which is how long opk can stay positive) then my concern was this would sway girl as opposed to every other day with multiple attempts over say a 2 day fertile period.

I'm going to rephrase this question because I feel like we have this pretty much pinned down to avoid the scenario you're worrying about.

Either DTD unprotected or have husband release on his own or with you, with protection (that does not contain spermicide) every 2-4 days starting as far in advance of planned attempt as is feasible.

Then have 3 attempts at or after first positive OPK OR first peak reading on CB advanced. Be aware with CB advanced that you can go from nothing to first peak in the span of a day so be prepared in case that happens.

Do not EVER use Clearblue original ALONE. We have had terrible results with it. If you really have a hard time reading paper OPK you can use Clearblue as a backup but I actually think it creates more confusion than it fixes. I think it should be taken off the market quite frankly.

If you want to go for 5 attempts in fertile window, (after doing the every 2-4 days mentioned above) you can start having attempts every other day either when you get a HIGH on the fertility monitor, a fade in if you get those on paper strips, or 3 days before expected O if you have a regular cycle. If you see EWCM at those times, even better. :)
