IVF with GS after 40 is hard. The sooner you can cycle the better. You could freeze until you are ready to transfer. It may take multiple attempts though.

Your chances are slim to none. At 43 you may as well set a pile of money on fire instead and roast marshmallows. :) I'm sorry, it is just the reality of the situation and why I am always pushing the donor eggs and embryos route. Can it happen for people, occasionally, but then again occasionally people get struck by lightning too.

You have a WAY higher chance of getting a girl with swaying over the age of 40 than you do via high tech. But the catch is you have to accept that it could be a boy and you don't get the guarantee.

Is there any way you could have some eggs retrieved now and cycle later??? Although giving it to you straight here, 39 ain't a walk in the park either and you may be shelling out beaucoup $$$ for an egg or two.

I swayed at 39 and got my 4th boy. But because I did it fast and didn't screw around, I had time to try again and got my daughter at 42. Now, that is not somehting everyone might want to do and it wasn't easy either, but if it is an option, just act sooner rather than later for EITHER HT or for swaying.

I am one of the slim to none success stories and unbelievably have been hit my "lightning" twice as I am pregnant with another HT DD!

Crazy thing is I didn't get my BFPS until 40 and now at 42. BUT my numbers were also in a good range (FSH etc.) and I have an extremely good egg reserve (last retrieval I put out 18 eggs which is pretty good for 42).

I would have swayed years ago BUT I have a blocked tube which is why I needed IVF for DS#2 and I now absolutely need PGD to avoid a genetic condition which DS#2 inherited.

It wasn't easy mentally and financially. You have to prepare that it might take at least 3 attempts and a high credit line. I will tell you ONE and DONE is almost impossible to honor and HT is an addiction of sort :(

I would do all pretesting and if numbers are not favorable along with a low AFC then you need to be realistic about the results.

Pretresting can be covered by insurance. If not, it can be several hundred dollars.

You could cycle sooner rather than later and freeze until you are ready to transfer. Every year, fertility can decline rapidly. By 43, IVF with GS really isn't a viable option.

Yes. You do a cycle now and then freeze any good embryos you have for a transfer when you are ready. You would then know IF you can make a healthy one of the right gender now before your chances start to dramatically decline. IVF with GS actually lowers our odds of finding success because you lose half of your embryos due to gender. Then you add age and it starts to be very difficult. You can transfer any time. The age of your uterus does not matter.
