Hi ladies. I went in last Thursday for my NT scan and the doctor took a guess at the gender and said "looks like your 5th boy." I'm totally devestation. This was a week after he told me 75% chance its a girl by the potty shot (11.6 weeks). The cord was between the baby's legs but I think I'm just grasping at straws and giving myself false hope.26287

I'm not sure, other ladies might help out, but I thought that you can't go by potty shots until at least 14/15wks?

Oh gosh, that's a bit of a wait :/ Hopefully some more seasoned ultrasound gals can help you out in the meantime. The last pic looks like a nub shot - could you see it at the time on the screen? I'm thinking flat thin nubs are girly and the more upright bulb looking nubs are boys?

I think the tech was very wrong to give you a guess of Girl at 11wk 6days, especially by potty shot as they are still the same at that gestation.

In the video I do think I see a by nub a couple of time at the very start of the video. I'm not sure how accurate a potty shot is I suspect too early at 13wks for potty shot.

Huhu, i am not sure, because only one photo
looks boy to me.
But i am sure with Photo Nr 4 that this is the cord
between the legs.
Photo Nr 1, 2 and 3 also very strange to me - no penis!

Photo 5 and 6 perhaps boy, but that is too long (pic5) and
too thick (pic6) to me

He shouldn't give you gender guesses that early - very unprofessional. Had a look at the video and thinking I saw boy bits. x

First off, a gender determination at 11 weeks is far too early and it was wrong of him to do so. Nub guesses and potty shots at that gestation aren't reliable.

That being said, I believe your 13 week shots show a pretty clear and definite boy.

The nub looks parallel but then shows stacking on top which suggests boy.
The video confirms my belief.

I agree with everything the other ladies has said, the doctor shouldn't have guessed so early but I do believe this is another boy. Sorry you didn't get your daughter from the looks of these scans, hope you're ok, though I would hold off buying blue until confirmation in Sept/arrival xx

The chances get smaller, but there is hope.

Thank you ladies. I've cried a lot on and off the last few days but I know I'll get over it . I love my baby no matter what. I have 4 precious boys and 1 girl. I just wanted my daughter to have a sister. Maybe my hubby will agree for another with some medical intervention.

Forgot to mention that I was considering going in for a paid ultrasound at 16 weeks but hard a lot of inaccuracies in those too and I'm just scared of then saying girl then it turns to a boy at 20 weeks. I'm pretty sure the odds are against me at this point for a girl. The only thing giving me hope is the possible cord being in the way and the nub seems flat even though there's a shadow of stacking I feel that can also be the cord or something. I know I sound like every mom who's in denial about the gender lol.

Do what you feel comfortable with hun and then make peace with that decision, hugs, your boys will have such a wonderful life growing up together and they're still four different personalities regardless of gender. Try to focus on meeting your child, not son/daughter and who they are, what makes them unique. I know it's hard xx

Becky realistically anything is possible, nothing is definite for sure. I have seen 100% confident guesses be wrong. There is no harm preparing to hear boy but knowing it's not 100% set in stone yet.

I would do the 16wk scan - just for peace of mind. I did that with my 4th (at 17wks) and you could see it was so obvious that he was a boy ;) It didn't stop me asking at every appoint (my OB does an ultrasound each time) 'Is it still a boy'? Lol!

I agree go for a scan, but I would definitely prepare yourself to hear boy based on those potty shots. I know its not what you want to hear, I am sorry for that!!
