Exercise. I have been doing none, and yesterday decided to start walking again. (Walking is the only exercise I can do). I walked 50 minutes yesterday and 45 minutes today. I went as far as I could go without pain. Is this okay for girl swaying? should I keep it up, or skip it because it isn't the recommended 60 minutes of intense cardio? Thanks =)

Atomic just answered a similar question for me, she said the "intense" is something she never meant to be taken the way it is and that she wishes she had never used that word. Any exercise that isn't weight training is good for a girl sway.

Thanks! So the walking is okay..but what about how long I can do it? I can't be doing 60 minutes. Seems my body can do about 40/45/50 minutes? Since I can't get to the 60 minutes should I skip it?

Personally, I would 50min if you can swing it. Are you casually walking or power walking? I ask because you can just walk casually for 60min.

The reason 40-45min won't work is that is prime blue territory. That being said, do what you can and slowly build up to 60min. People that are not accustomed to exercising need to work up to 60min. You can get there but slowly increase your time to 60min.

FX and GL to you! You're doing great [emoji6]!!

Thanks ladies. I have powerwalked for years until I had my first baby...then had to have subsequent surgeries and didn't walk consistently for about three years. I'm looking to start again just for health reasons, but OH MY my back was killing me lol so I need to start slow, but will eventually work up to powerwalk for 60 minutes. I appreciate the help and advice =)

Walking is fine, 60 min is best but anyone who has more than 30 lbs to spare or PCOS/IR should exercise even if it means that you can't get up to the full 60 min. The benefits are seemingly considerable in terms of blood sugar and in turn testosterone.

The thing you have to remember Shannon, is that I just made up the guidelines to be what I think will work best for most people most of the time. I don't have this huge body of data to draw from and I pretty much picked a number out of thin air. I do not KNOW that 45 min is inferior to 60, I'm just trying to maximize odds by erring on the side of what I think will work for the majority (including those who are not doing diet very well!) Exercise and diet work in concert and it is absolutely possible to get a girl doing less than 60 min. of exercise, particularly if you are solid on diet.

I am so seriously trying to NOT make this so serious lol but sometimes you just get caught up haha. I am doing okay on the diet, skipping meals, and doing one attempt. I need to just relax haha

Just keep in mind, I pulled most of the guidelines out of my butt, so nothing should be taken with any seriousness at all. :)
