Ok....so we're team yellow...35 weeks. At my appt...I had the "weird" doctor. Friends of mine have warned me about her and said take what she says w a grain of salt. So like usual as the appt begins, she asks if we know what we are having. I went thru the whole "no...we aren't finding out! We really want the surprise at birth, and that moment of "its a _____!!" As I deliver...especially since it's our first" her response to that was "thats fine, but I wouldnt but buy much pink" I said "are you telling us it's a boy when I JUST told you we disnt wanna know?!" She nonchalantly says..."no...im jus saying I wouldnt buy pink. Yellow is loveley, but no pink." This was obviously not her "letting it slip" bc we were in the middle of the convo about me not wanting to know. She could tell I was irritated..andd said im jk with you. But her demeanor was never joking. My mom thinks it's a girl now bc she said she would have to be an idiot to flat out tell you what youre having when you just said you didn't wanna know. So my mom thinks she told me the opposite to throw me off. I think shes just a terrible person and wanted to ruin my surprise but im hormonal and irrational. Lol what do you think? Like I said, there's no way it was an accident. Do you think she told me the truth, or the opposite, or what?

I think it is very difficult to see gender at 35 weeks and she was totally messing with you.

Yeh I think she was messing with you as she probably didn't even see the gender of the baby. So annoying though :( I think you're safe to still consider it 50/50 and get a total surprise when baby arrives xx

Not cool! I think she probably was just meaning to say that when you are surprised just be careful since it may turn out to be a boy and then if you bought both blue and pink, only the pink is wasted (for the most part lol). I think it was a silly way to give you advice that came off confusing. Doubt she would have been able to tell gender, esp so fast, at an appt when baby is so big. All good! Come back and let us know what it ends up being!

I'm sorry that she did that. I think I'd take that to mean it was a boy.

When I heard my 4th boy my doctor thought it was funny to come in and say "it's a girl" knowing that I really wanted a girl and had just heard boy (and he is a very nice doctor usually). My heart leapt to the heavens with a moment of hope thinking maybe the tech had gotten it wrong, and then crashed when I realized he was joking. So it's not beyond the realm of the possible that it was a mean joke, but I think I'd take that to mean boy. :/

Oh atomic that's just awful! And you too LL- just so unnecessary to make any kind of comment. If she felt she must comment she should have just said buy yellow and left the blue/pink well out of it.

Ridiculous Atomic! What a cruel 'joke'.

LadyL - talk about messing with your mind! I would guess that she didn't know and thought she was being funny. But yeah some joke.

Thanks ladies!! Ive calmed down a bit....still called in and told office manager that she should be fired. Lol but im back to feeling as though I may still have a surprise and shes just an idiot. Add me to the list of ppl who will be warning others to take what she says w a grain of salt....

Yes, It is clearly evident that she was messing with you. Even, I got irritated while reading your story. Such people should get punishment. Since she is a doctor, it can be considered as a medical malpractice. I would personally advise you to consult a professional. He will help you to sue a medical malpractice case against her. Try to make it as soon as possible.

I got told the gender of my first child twice before I was even asked if I knew/wanted to know! We had an amnio so gender was on the results.
So bad of her, I guess she has thrown you off if she did blurt it. She is weird
