Oops stupid phone again!
Do you get used to eating less and gain a lower appetite and less hungry?
I start my diet in a week or two and this is the bit I'm dreading most!

Yes! I can honestly say that before this diet I ate pretty much all day long (even when dieting, I just changed what I ate!) and never, ever missed breakfast. So long as I have a couple of coffees during the morning and some sweets to suck on and/or a diet coke in the evenings (which is my usual 'snacky' time) then I'm fine and I'm not all that hungry that often. Sugar free gum is a good distraction technique too, especially when cooking for the rest of the family! You'll be fine I promise - if I can do it anyone can! GL :D

Thank you! I'm just so keen to get started now... I'll have to try the cola and gum, and also hoping some sweetened peppermint teas will help too

All 3 of those things really help. I swapped breakfast for sweetened peppermint tea and I find that good as it's part of my new morning ritual! Your appetite does lessen, the first week is the worst!! I also get hungrier at certain times in my cycle.

I don't seem so hungry as I did when I first started, so I believe your body gets used to it, your stomach shrinks a lot, I can't chew gum it makes my stomach growl more it seems and then I feel sick so I stay away from the gum

Thank you for the replies. Before I eat most mornings I feel nauseous (a bit like morning sickness which could be caused by irregular hormones still) does anyone else get that? Normally eating things helps and haven't gone that long without eating in ages... wonder if just a drink would keep it at bay

I agree with the other girls, you do get used to eating less. I do miss snacking, but mostly itīs the habit I miss, not because Iīm hungry. When I eat more than usual, I feel too filled up, whereas before the diet I could eat and eat and eat...
Donīt know about your morning sickness, I donīt have any (unfortunately! 7 dpo). I think the key to skipping breakfast is def. going out and keeping yourself occupied, and hot tea or coffee really helps.
Itīs easier to start the diet by replacing one meal at a time, you could first stop snacking, when youīre used to it turn your dinner in a LE dinner, then lunch and then start skipping breakfast. GL!

I agree with Indira - what I miss most is snacking, but I think it's the comfort of the routine rather than the food I miss. I think we boy moms often eat out of habit and not hunger (I know I always have!).
As others have said, the first week is the worst, but hang in there and you'll surprise yourself. I've been on this diet for 4 months now, and I remember when I started it saying I'd be surprised if I made it 2 weeks!

Take it easy on yourself with the BFing rainbow, maybe you need a little something at breakfast time - particularly if you've been feeding during the night!

I feel like I drink so much crystal light there's hardly room for food;) Honestly though it got easier after about a week. Snacking is my biggest hurdle as well, especially while watching tv in the evening.

Yes started out feeling nauseuos, dizzy and miserable on the diet. Now over 4 months later I keep so busy I sometimes forget to eat until after 1 or 2 p.m.

I'm doing a trial run today (although eating what I like still...) and managed until 12pm without any food which I'm chuffed about, had a vegetable curry for dinner with rice... 2pm started to feel peckish so had another peppermint tea, and now it's 3pm and I've just expressed milk to keep my supply up as my mum has William for the day, and I feel soooo drained and peaky I'm going to have to have a mars bar :(
this diet is going to be awful!

Don't be hard on yourself, BFing makes you hungry! I'm sure Atomic will have some advice on this for you as she was on a low everything diet and BFing at the same time.
You really will get used to it though - today we went to Pizza Hut and I worked out I could have half a veggie pizza but I was pretty full after only 2 slices - pathetic by my standards! AND I've felt full and sick all evening!

I was a BIG eater before swaying. I would eat breakfast, all day and then before bed as well. It was difficult for me to adjust at first. I also was nursing when I first started. I did allow myself extra calories because of that...
I agree with the others. :) It does get better and I have definitely adjusted. :) I think swaying has actually helped me learn a lot more about portion control!! :) :) I do not see myself going back to eating the way I did.
HTH :)

After I got hurt and figured I was out of swaying for awhile I tried to eat more but couldn't... I get full on an apple, 1/2cp of cucumber, and a few snap peas!

Yes, and I was shocked by how much less I ate and how little it bothered me. Skipping breakfast was tough for about a week and then I didn't even miss it any more.

Try drinking something and see if it helps. I always get sick in the morning if I don't eat and yet my body did adjust and it went away. If you can find seltzer or tonic water, that helps.
The other option is eating something that is pure carbs right when you get up to settle your tummy.
