Hi everyone, first post here! I have been looking at the forums for a while but thinking we wouldn't be ttc till next year. We then changed our minds and decided to hopefully add to the family a bit sooner :pregnant:
So here goes, I have been dieting for the last month as we go on holiday in September. So for the last 4 weeks I have been losing weight, but eating a lot of fruit and veg. Well I'm fussy on veg so I've been eating carrots and turnip ALOT of carrots and turnip! Some days eating raspberries or grapes for lunch and carrots and turnip for dinner with gravy. Not healthy or sustainable but looking to get bikini ready for hols so quick fix. My bmi is about 23 at the moment and I've lost 11lbs so far (in these 4 weeks) I don't eat breakfast anyway and we haven't had alot of time to dtd as hubby been working a lot of hours. When we do try going to do one attempt at positive opk.
So here's my dilemma. We want to avoid August for my hubby's work as its a busy time so if we don't try in September then we would have to skip a couple of months to make sure August is avoided!
Only other thing is that we will be on holiday when I ovulate so maybe trying to stick to a diet while away won't be easy!

Think that's everything but really just asking if it's too risky to ttc in September? I can switch to LE now and given that I'm already losing weight is that ok? Should I give up the veg?
Or do you think we should hang off till the end of the year?

Hiya, not sure if it's much help but I decided to hold back on my sway attempts due to upcoming holidays. I know I would have zero willpower while on holiday and would ruin any good swaying attempts I was doing leading up to it as I wouldn't want to have any regrets.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do :)

If it were me, I'd stay on the diet longer because it seems like 12+ weeks on the diet gets the best results. I'd plan for one cheat meal (or even a cheat day) while on holiday because I think it makes it easier to stick to the diet. It's way more tempting to binge eat when you restrict yourself too much. You definitely need to eat something other than just fruits and veggies. That isn't healthy! The LE diet is 1500-1800 cals, high carb, low fat, low protein. I'd include some rice or pasta in there and stick with the more LE friendly veggies like cucumber, eggplant, lettuce, squash, etc. Good luck!

Thanks very much for your replies. I think we will stay on the diet a bit longer and modify it a bit then.
Really appreciate the advice!

Well, you need to do SOMETHING before TTC because that limited a diet is not good for a pregnancy.

I would have you add in cardio exercise and switch to LE Diet. Be careful with carrots, technically Vit. A from veg is supposed to be ok but I feel like it's risky given that synthetic Vit. A is one thing absolutely proven to cause birth defects.

Fruits and veg are ok but you have to be sure you're getting enough food to continue ovulting, get and stay pregnant wiht a healthy baby.
