View Full Version : Extremly hot weather=more + ions?

Past week we had 39 degrees Celsius (~ 102 F) and the forecast says it will go one for another week.

Does it mean more + ions in the air so a good thing for blue sway??
I'm not that much exposed to the sun, maybe 30 min a day or so, but I spent whole morning outside?

Or maybe I should title this thread: Grasping at the straw....LOL!

I believe that the AC creates a ton of positive ions

I believe that the AC creates a ton of positive ions

I do hope that's true....it's constantly on because it's so hot and I have sore throat probably thanks to AC....

do u believe on some boy or girl flare in some years ??? like did u ever noticed more boys conceived in a specific year ?? i dont know y but this thing has stuck in my mind , all people around me are having or gave birth to boys this years , although some girls but ratio is 70:30 ........... even many ladies on our IG thread group conceived boys , Aqua , Roonarpia, rainDreamer, Aabroo and just found yesterday ProudMummy-26 is also having boy .....
and as u know many from other thread also having boys. now i really wish i conceived with them at that time :D
i hope if there is anything like this woud b till Oct :( , i think as i know just Freya and OTW r having girls,

This is why I think #4 is a boy...although it was an oops 3 day cut-off.....we had the a/c on the entire week here....sigh.

Yes, you are right about the A/C. BUT, it ain't the only swaying factor, and MUCH less important than diet and blood sugar, etc (IMO), so no fretting about it, anyone!

Light, you are right, the blue swayers did do pretty well this past year! But don't let that discourage you. Boys are made all year long!

Hey Z -you call that extremely hot? I would love to trade places:rofl:
It's 48C here and throw a 90% humidity in to that too! And it didn't rain today! Normally it rains every day so the humidity is even higher after rain.
The humid is really killing you , I would love to move to a dry place...
(if anyone wonder about my thread about DH and can't keep it cool, well this is why) And it like this the whole damn Summer!

It's AC here everywhere and Im always in AC and got girls so looks like ions may not work for me.

BTW, how do you survive so hot weather? I'm hesitating to go out during the day and nights are not much better...My MIL and FIL have small pool in their backyard so we went there for a swaying purposes, I mean for a swim LOL! If I had a pool I could totally live in hot climates LOL!

I read a study once that claimed cows conceived more boys when the temperature was higher.

I hope no one stresses over the temperature or ions when they conceive either way. There are TONS of swaying factors that make more sense than temperature and temperature makes a lot more sense than ions!!!

No, I do not believe this in any way. There is no way that such a mechanism could have evolved...swaying has to be based on things that help babies survive year in and year out, and affects all humans everywhere the same way (such as diet) not some weird solar cycle that happens only every eleven years.

I also don't see how or why God would have designed such a thing either?? What would be the benefit???

My a/c runs more in a yr than not lol, we turn the a/c on around march and it doesn't shut off till end of sept, 1st of oct and even went as far as nov once, you have to have a/c here to survive lol and the humity is aweful, it could be 106 but feels like temp with the humity is 108, I conceived my boys in jan, feb, mar and hoping to conceive in sept for a girl lol maybe doing the opposite is the answer lol(I can hope lol )

That would seem to follow the ion theory as fans produce negative ions which sway girl. I don't put too much weight on the theory but my AC does happen to blow right on me while I am sleeping and I am TTC a girl so I will be waiting until the end of AC season just to be safe ;)

Of course, any of these theories all include a LOT of wiggle room for luck and exceptions (if it was as easy as hot weather = girls, this site would have no one hanging on here!!)

My speculation would be that if you're very hot, you might be more likely to be dehydrated and have less/dryer CM, and heat def. has a negative effect on sperm count!!! One may even eat differently in the summer months than they do in cooler weather.

Remember that more girls than statistically expected are conceived around the Equator where it's very hot!!

Pinkdreams-that's an excellent point :agree:

Hobber-I conceived both my girl during winter (Jan and November) so I'm sort in a hurry to conceive this baby during hot weather.
You know, I'm trying to do the opposite from what I did with my girls.

I think that leads us back to the most important factor: diet, and ions being more contributing then crucial.
Once I dared to say on IG that ions might not be the crucial factor and got slap on the (face) wrist right away bcos, as we all know, you must blindly follow all 7 swaying factors :sigh:

Hey, for all we know, diet does nothing, I'm full of horse-puckies, and they are totally right!

My thinking is, with ions, they prob can't hurt and may help, so if people want to include them, that's fine...I just don't want anyone to rely totally on ions.

I'm afraid I don't understand  What are horse-puckies?
I believe totally that diet does do like 90% of the thing and the more I learn here the more I believe so.

Horse poo! ;) Another word for nonsense.

Just saying, in all honesty, we don't KNOW anything in regards to swaying and until we do, it makes sense to try and incorporate as many theories into our swaying as we can, as long as those theories don't hurt our overall sway!
