Ok so my DH works hard from morning to late afternoon and the top of that we are in FL! So most of the time he works inside but have to walk in and out a lot and so he sweats a lot , even his clothes are all wet! He do hard work, no sitting around at all.
He wears boxers but also a half long jeans over it and a T shirt.
He just can't keep it cool for most of the day. Im so worried he will have low count or at least less swimmers because of the damn heat!
What can we do? He wanted to take some days of around O next month but he can't now he got work to do.( and we need to be happy for that , so..)
Anyway he said he will use some ice pack after work on the week we need to try.
Is this enough or will it help at all after all this hot days??

good question..youre lucky your dh is willing to ice himself. i think my dh would laugh at me. can he take cooler showers? sleep in the nude? just shorts when at home? i mean its not like he can walk around naked at work right ? and im sure there are boys born in hot countries, esply where men need to work outdoors. and just make sure to take his supps!

He can't sleep in nude but in boxers so that's good. He don't like cool showers but I will go there and turn it to more cold lol
Im just worried all this is not enough if he kills out all the sperm already during the day time with that heat!

He's probably alright, Flava.....I bet he would not have any swimmers if it was that bad and you'd have no kids yet! I second the girls in saying YAY that he will ice them. Just have him do whatever he can to counter it and I'm sure it will be fine!

Thanks. Hope that some cool down is enough...Im just worried that he is in that hot for so long.

I agree that it is def. something to be concerned about and I also share your concern that a little ice right before BD isn't going to do much really if they've been dying off all day.
Just doing what he is already doing is going to go a long way towards remedying the situation. Plus, with everything you guys are doing (sleeping in boxers, taking supps, having the AC on, timing BD for max. numbers) I think you guys are set up for a great sway regardless of the heat.
It's always something, you know??? No one ever has the "perfect" sway and yet most people do get their DG without swaying at all!!
Great point that boys are still conceived in hot countries too!

What can I do if we live in this damn heat? I just hope that Sept. is already a boy friendly month. But again it may not even matter in FL.
He is taking lot's of sups some of that for repair sperms and higher sperm count and also the "green" sups.
I can't do nothing else just hope it works.

I don't have A/C, so at least you have that going for you! I am just hoping we get snow soon ( sometimes we do by the end of Sept.). Until then, I hope it starts to cool down!

Some years! Last year we were lucky, and fall was wonderful. It stayed nice until Halloween. But most years by Halloween, there is snow on the ground. The year my son was born, the temp on Halloween was in the single digits, so we didn't even take him out.

It doesn't make sense to me to ice DH right before BD. Ideally, you should be icing all the time, as sperm is always being produced- and it is in a particular stage of spermatogenesis that temperature is important. The last portion is the most temperature resistant- so heat doesn't matter.
So when DH has a fever (like mine), the affect isn't seen right away- but your following cycle as motility and count are decreased. I think you should encourage DH to ice regularly, sleep in the nude, and no hot baths.

:agree: Thank you Spicy!! Great info.
My thinking is that icing is not necessary and it's probably enough just to keep the boys relatively cool as often as you can (cool showers, sleeping in boxers, etc). No need to torture the poor guy!!! The exception might be when he does have an actual fever and the heat is coming from the inside out!!

The other year where I live (near Idaho) it snowed on June 14th for four hours and then it snowed in Sept too. That year kinda sucked!!!

I think you just do as much as you can do, first to keep things cool and secondly to help up the sperm numbers/quality in other ways so they are better able to withstand the heat.:fx:

We never have snow here and it's only cooler maybe in Dec.and Jan. and Feb.
Also I didn't think to ice right before .But I guess I can ask him to start now so he can do it every night a little bit . And it's more like a cool down...we don't put ice on him lol but get a ice pack and wrap in a towel and just hold it there for a while .With his pants on lol so not hurting at all .
Like I said he can't sleep nude but he got only a boxer on . And he don't take baths just shower.

Okay, I am confused. If sperm is always being produced, what's the 72 days thing? I mean, if only some are fully formed NOW, where are the rest of them hanging out at their different stages of development? I think I need a biology lesson.
My son was conceived in December. I am now wondering if this is a better way to go for me, since DH is outside all the time, and his "boys" would be cooler if we waited a month or two? Maybe I should switch my attempt to November??
Also, I am thinking about the people I know with hot tubs, and most of them have GIRLS! I bet that's why.

They're hanging out in the nuts in various stages of development.
You know, Hobber, my gut instinct is that there is something about day length that makes a difference (which is why October seems to be the "boy" month and that is separate from the heat factor. But if it puts your mind at ease at all, maybe Nov. would be a good compromise?? My concern is that most of us don't get pg that first month anyway, and if you postpone it too long, you may end up TTC in "girl" months, KWIM??
It makes more sense to me to start in Oct with the thought in mind that it may have some benefits we do not understand that are totally separate from temperature, with the idea in the back of your mind that it may not happen that first month and you may end up conceiving in Nov/Dec anyway.

Hobber-Im starting in Sept. because don't want to wait no more and also not sure we get bfp first try so why not start? Wanted to wait till Oct. but just can't so tired of diet and sups and it's so much money!
(but no way I would start in the summer lol)
I don't know about the day length but hope it's works for blue. Funny just noticed yesterday that now is almost all dark at 8pm and last month it was 9pm. So it's already going on!

Yes, I have thought about it not happening right away too, though who knows. I have 2 that were conceived the first month (both "oops" babies) and one that took2 cycles to concieve. Our first attempt at that was Oct., we tried in Nov., and finally got pregnant in December. So who knows. It may be the same this time.
Flava, I see why you want to try next month. It is expensive and hard to do the diet, and it will be nice once we have BFPs!

so why IS october a "boy month?" and is the same true for the land down under? (since their seasons are opposite of ours)?

I don't know but just want to give you hugs Flava! My DH is in construction and is constantly hot, soaked in sweat for 12 hours a day. He already sleeps in next to nothing but he still sweats! Since we're not trying until oct (doctor's orders) here's hoping it will have cooled off more by then. I actually pray he'll be on night shift when the temps are at least in the low 60s.

Avoiding hot showers is a traditional part of the blue sway. But my DH always took hot showers and you can see the results. I don't think the showers are particularly effective.

Some research has indicated that more boys are conceived in October and more girls in April. Here's the essay. http://genderdreaming.com/forum/showthread.php?1693-the-seasons-and-swaying

My DH always has, too. And I have just recently started monitoring his shower heat/length, so hopefully it will help. I wish I had been more on it a month ago, but I am sort of trying not to bug him too much about everything. He is so rebellious, the more I annoy him the less he will do, so I have to pick my battles. So far he is cutting baco on the special cigarettes and beer, and taking all his supps. That is pretty good, for him!

Hey, that's AWESOME! Good work!! I totally agree about the annoying = man rebellion thing...I find that not saying anything is often more effective than nagging anyway!
I'm not just in Wa, I'm in Eastern Wa...almost Idaho. BFE for sure!!

Ah, that is pretty close! Are you near Ritzville, or "Titsville", as DH calls it? For some reason that is the only eastern WA town that I can think of off the top of my head. I think we used to drive through there when we went to visit family or something...

Haha, no, not right now. We live about halfway between Spokane and Pullman in the Palouse, but we are actually building a house that is more in Central Wa by Grand Coulee dam. A little nearer to Ritzville...we always call it Sh..tsville :)...but as I'm sure you know the distances are huge here so it's still like an hour away.
