TTC a Girl Sway Attempt
Gender Result:
Unknown
DW Age:
32
DH Age:
33
Current Children's Gender(s)
1 boy
Number of Months TTC
4
Did you purchase and follow a GD Personalized Plan?
No
DIET
Did you follow a diet plan?
Yes
If yes to diet, which one did you most follow? Other

Comments regarding DW's diet changes-
I put Other because I started off on the LE diet but was barely still doing it at the time of our attempt. The only things I was still doing was avoiding breakfast until a few hours after waking, avoiding snacks most days, and avoiding red meat most days. I was not worried about calories, protein, fat, or nutrition content. I am already on the thin side and I really couldn't afford to lose any more weight. Also, I have taken a multivitamin and iron supplement everyday for as long as I can remember, and I cut these out when I started the diet.
If diet was used, length of time before attempt?
Began the diet at the end of February so a little over 5 months.
Did you skip breakfast regularly?
Yes
Did DH change his diet with you?
Yes
Comments regarding DH's diet-
DH only cut out red meat (for the most part) and only had one caffeinated drink in the morning on the day of BD (he normally drinks energy drinks throughout the day). He consumed 1-2 beers a day. He's also been avoiding fast food, not because of the sway but because he wanted to lose a few pounds.
DId you consume alcohol? Often- daily

DId you try to limit caffeine?
No, I did not factor that into my sway
Any Diet Details?
I normally have one cup of coffee every morning and I didn't change that. I did consume a glass of wine/cranberry juice with dinner every night as part of our sway.
Any Diet Comments/Additional Info?
-
WEIGHT AND EXERCISE
What did you weigh/BMI do leading up to O?
Weight: 120 lbs
BMI: 18.8

I only lost a few pounds since starting the diet.
Any Weight/Exercise related additional info/comments?
I just couldn't find the time to add a ton of cardio to my sway, and I didn't want to lose any more weight. I wouldn't really say I went couch potato though because DS keeps me busy.
THINGS in VG and CONCEPTION DATE(CD) INFO
pH Before Starting a Sway Program, if known
5.5
Any VG potions used? NO

CM pH at attempt
Stopped testing pH after 1st month TTC

1
BD Dates according to Ovulation 2 Days Before O

Any additional comments?
I tried RePhresh for the first 2 cycles before dropping that from my sway, as it gave me a terrible yeast infection the 2nd month using it.
THE DEED INFO
DH Info about Swimmers BD every few days

BD Position
Missionary
Did you Jump and Dump? Yes

Any relevant attempt details?
We BD'd every 4 days and J&D after about 5 minutes.

DH Supplements
-
Any additional supplement info?
Supplements make me nervous so we avoided this in our sway.
Did you do anything with Ions?
Although I'm not sure I believe in this, I used lavender lotion and lavender sleep spray because I figured it was an easy tactic and couldn't hurt. I painted my toes about a week prior to O.
Moon Phase during conception?
Waning Gibbous
Did you use any Old Wives Tales?
Nope.

(Also I'm not 100% sure my moon phase entry is right! I didn't look into this at all).
Things that make me feel great about my sway:
-Keeping our attempt limited to one. It was so hard not to go for more, as I felt like I just wasn't going to get pregnant with one attempt.
-Even though I didn't completely stick to the diet, I used to take vitamins daily and eat fortified cereal and bananas every morning, eat snacks throughout the day, and just eat very very healthy overall. Hopefully cutting out vitamins, red meat, and bananas, skipping breakfast and snacks, and trying to choose lower nutrient options for the most part was enough.
-Poor maternal condition due to lack of sleep because DS has been sleeping like crap.
-Not being as obsessed over TTC this month. Was starting to wonder if a larger age gap is better due to the comment above :)
Things that make me nervous about my sway:
-I was so stressed with a death in the family (stress sways boy I think?)
-I really could have done better with the diet.
-I didn't have time for exercise.
-Annnddd TMI but at first I thought I ovulated 2 days earlier so I had the big O on my own on ovulation day, which I know can sway boy.
Things worth mentioning:
We included a few easy things at the beginning (DH wearing whitie tighties, both of us taking a hot bath before our attempt, taking Zyrtec the day of our attempt, and immediate J&D). We dropped these things as the months went on.

I would so love to have a girl because DH only wants 2 children but I would be perfectly happy with another boy, as our DS is my world. I am honestly just thrilled to be pregnant at this point :)

Well I posted my sway attempt too soon, as I started bleeding yesterday and the pregnancy is no longer viable. Hcg decreased from 111 on Monday to 37 yesterday. Hoping this cycle brings a sticky pink bean, but I'm probably going to ease up a lot on swaying, as its just not as important to me at this point as giving DS a sibling.

So sorry for your loss. Miscarriages suck! I hope things go smoothly and that you give yourself a chance to heal. Take it easy and I hope next cycle is your sticky bean!
