I posted in my own thread (http://genderdreaming.com/forum/trying-to-conceive-a-girl/43593-first-time-trying-girl-please-help.html) but got no responses so figured maybe it was too old & no one can see it so I'm starting a new one. I hope this one gets responses soon because it's time sensitive.

I know it's been awhile but I'm just popping in to get some more advice. We tried for 3 cycles and nothing happened so I went to get everything looked at on my and he got a semen analysis. Turns out I've got lots of healthy eggs and my tubes are open, so nothing is wrong with me. His count is high, his motility is high, his ph is 7.6 but his morphology is 4% (which the doc said is normal). So I'm not sure why nothing has happened yet but I'm getting worried. I don't want to be that couple that has to try for a year before it takes. :nails:

We're trying again, round 2! So now he want to know if there's anything on his end he can do to help. I saw that some pages suggested taking cranberry supplements or baby aspirin (which is better), abstaining from coffee, low salt and the doc suggested taking 1c walnuts daily to improve morphology. What do you think? Anything you would add?

How about his "personal time" habits? Is it ok for him to masturbate the week of, the morning of (if we do it at night)? How often can he if we're trying that week? I ask because I'm pretty sure he does it daily on a usual basis, and I didn't know if there would be enough sperm left for when we try. When he had the sperm analysis they told him to abstain for at least 3 days to produce sperm, is that how long he needs to wait?

Oh by the way I've tried to keep up eating salmon twice a week, and two full-fat yogurts a day but money has been tight since hubby lost his job for a bit. So I am eating more like 1 every day or two, and salmon every once in awhile (maybe on a few times a month). He got a job again so I will be going back to salmon twice a week, and yogurt once a day (it's too expensive for 2x day). Hopefully that's enough. Oh plus I have been taking the multivitamin gummy 3x day, fiber gummy 2x, and folic acid 3x day consistently (for the most part, sometimes I forget a day or two).

Should I still only try once per month, or should we be doing it more? Is there a specific time in my cycle we should? If only once I'm thinking we should be trying Sept 1st, Oct 3rd, Nov 4th (since my Glow app says it's the day with the highest percentage of success). Or if I'm able to afford the ovulation tests we should try on the solid smiley day each month right?

One last thing, what position is best and how long should I wait before I get up and go pee/shower? I tried the one I think you call the "jump and dump" where you're on top and jump off and go pee in the toilet immediately after he cums, but I'm pretty sure they all leaked out on the run to the toilet because it didn't take and just made a mess lol. And is there truth to the "don't orgasm" rule of pink sway? My husband wants to know that one because he "can't enjoy it" knowing that I'm not enjoying myself too.

Again if anyone could get back to me on this soon that would be great.

Thanks

I would honestly buy a plan from Atomic. It really is worth it and takes a lot of the worry out of your sway and covers for both you and DH and your lifestyles. It really isn't a good idea to say you or DH take this supplement - if there are issues as far as health or lifestyle it can be dangerous.

I will say from this, though, I'd drop your multivitamins and have one attempt on positive opk if it were me. Sorry I couldn't be much more help x

I also saw an article (The REAL Cause Of Morning Sickness – MommypotamusMommypotamus | (http://www.mommypotamus.com/the-real-cause-of-morning-sickness)) and (How to Avoid Morning Sickness with Diet and Magnesium (http://wellnessmama.com/6065/avoid-morning-sickness/)).

To summarize, if you take magnesium before conception and through pregnancy you can avoid morning sickness entirely. Since I spent almost a whole year puking my guts out, while having diarrhea and almost dying of dehydration as a result (a few years ago) I'd really love to avoid that. I'm all puked and pooped out. Pun intended. lol :)P Besides I have enough problems eating and having an appetite already, I don't need nausea making it worse.

I'm wondering though, if I follow the regiment she suggested (outlined below) would it negatively affect my pink sway? If so, is there anything I can do to counteract that would allow me to do this and still sway pink?

She says to use a Transdermal Magnesium Chloride Hexahydrate spray nightly all over the body (recommends up to 1,000 mg/day for adults & 4-500 mg/day for kids) because it moves directly into the blood/tissues, replenishing the body’s needed magnesium stores more quickly & bypassing the kidneys. She also says "consuming magnesium rich foods such as bone broth, seaweed, leafy green vegetables, properly soaked seeds and nuts (http://www.mommypotamus.com/how-to-soak-and-dehydrate-nuts-the-nourishing-traditions-way/), unrefined sea salt (http://www.mommypotamus.com/rbwz). Because Vitamin D, Vitamin B6, Vitamin B12, and a little calcium are essential for magnesium absorption you’re going to want to eat foods that contain those nutrients, too."

Again as far as supplements I won't offer any advice and an useless as far as the science bits (that's Atomic's specialty!). Either way, high nutrient is pretty much what the girls on here are doing to TTC boy!

No pregnancy is the same as far as symptoms. My sister has two daughters - one she got a fair way through the pregnancy without knowing she was pregnant, no symptoms whatsoever apart from the bump which gave it away. The other one she was sick all day every day until halfway through the pregnancy and went off most foods she used to love. I had no morning sickness at all with the little guy just a little wave of nausea one in a while which disappeared after a couple of weeks.

I was looking and if I can do that regimen (Transdermal Magnesium Chloride Hexahydrate, Vitamin D, Vitamin B6, Vitamin B12, and a little calcium) this is what I'd buy:

1.) Amazon.com: Magnesium Ease by Activation Products, 250 ml + Free eBook. Non-Greasy Transdermal Magnesium Oil Spray for Muscle and Joint Pain, Calms Nervous System, Relaxes Sore Muscles, Eases Restless Leg Syndrome, Headaches and Migraines, Improves S (http://www.amazon.com/Activation-Products-Non-Greasy-Transdermal-Guarantee/dp/B00XIT2X50/?rps=1&sr=8-1&ref=sr_1_1&qid=1440055427&refinements=p_72%3A2661618011&keywords=Magnesium+Chloride+Hexahydrate+spray&ie=UTF8)

And the vitamins I take already have D3 (600IU or 150%), B6 (3mg or 150%) & B12 (12mcg or 200%), so I'm set there I think. The yogurt I have has 25% calcium, so I'll try to eat more foods with calcium in it, or should I just buy the Calcium citrate supplement?

Hubby plans on doing the above regimen too. Should he also take cranberry or baby aspirin?

Thanks for answering. Yeah I'm waiting on Atomic for her take on all this honestly, since she was so helpful before. And yeah the only reason I'm higher nutrient is because Atomic was worried I was already too low. I eat once a day, I've never passed 95lbs, and I'm not very active. So she suggested I start a daily regimen of taking vitamins & full-fat yogurt, and then fish twice a week.

I did respond to your old thread, it sometimes takes me a few days to get thru everything.

re personal habits for DH - we have had a couple guys on here who were daily releasers and were still able to get wife pregnant. Many times a guy who is a "frequent offender" LOL will just up production to compensate. the problem comes not from a guy who releases every day and is used to that, but guys who DON'T and they start doing it for a sway. I think you are ok to "let him do what he does" and then just be in with your attempt and see what happens.

I would personally not have you take a multi when swaying but you can also do a compromise and take it 3 days a week.

Apps aren't reliable, I would have you do OPK and have one attempt at pos OPK (this is first solid smiley or peak) OR every 4 day method just DTD unprotected every 4 days.

Whatever position works for you guys. Positions have not seemed to do a whole lot. Wait 5 min. before J and D and you can extend this to 15-30 if you aren't getting pregnant. We don't know how much stock to put into "no orgasm for pink" idea. We have seen plenty of exceptions and I think many of us our husbands are not happy if we aren't enjoying it. I had one when I got DD for that very reason.

:agree: yes this is one of those "not the typical situation" and so the advice I have for Nikki will not mesh with what I usually tell people. :)

Hun, there are tons of people out there who claim magical minerals can do this that or the other thing but it just isn't so. I can assure you I have taken magnesium prior to pregnancy with 2 of my 4 boys and had severe MS with both. With my DD I was taking nothing and had hardly any sickness at all with her.

1000 mg a day of magnesium CAUSES DIARRHEA. That is what is in Milk of Magnesia and it makes you go A LOT at that high a dose.

I personally don't believe in calcium for swaying but if you do want to go that route you'd need the calcium supplement. It's impossible to get enough calcium from diet to get up to the levels recommended by the "mineral diets".

I'd give hubby cranberry if he's willing to take it.

So you want me to stop taking the vitamins during the week that we try? Or only take them 3 times that week?

As for the magnesium spray, I'm not just doing it for the reason of morning sickness prevention. I have tmj and it causes me such horrid head/jaw aches and read it's great for that. On the bottle it says I'm supposed to take 20-40 sprays per day, and there's 27.2mg of magnesium per spray. So I don't think at that rate it would give me diarrhea. Plus I have such a tiny body I doubt it'll take that many sprays before it covers my body. I read to take it before bed, so figured hubby could spray it on my back/chest & arms/legs and rub it in every night (yay nightly massage).

So should Hubby take cranberry or olive leaf (on my other post you said "olive leaf extract 500-1000 mg dry leaf a day taken daily and then weaned off gradually at BFP')?

Hubby is willing to help with swaying, he just wants me happy. :) He'll be happy to know he can continue to "do what he does" and that I can have an orgasm afterall. lol

I've ordered the opk but I'm pretty sure I can't use it for this cycle since I'm "supposed to" ovulate on Sept 1st and you're supposed to start on day 5 of your cycle. So we'll either try on the 1st or if we do the ever 4 days thing when should the first day be?

atomic sagebrush

3 times

Just be aware if you get diarrhea then it's prob. the mag

Either. If you're worried about getting pregnant then OLE may be better. I feel like cranberry is more "proven" for swaying, but OLE getting good results too.

Every 4 days - start right away and go until you're sure you've ovulated.

Do you want me to take the vitamins 3 times a week only during the week of ovulation or from now on til I get pregnant?

When you say cranberry has been more "proven" for swaying, is there a time frame required before you see results or do you think him starting now would be enough for a sway on Sept 1st or the next month?

Is it more sway effective to do it once on ovulation or every 4 days?

I saw the doc today. She said I was 92.7lbs, and wanted me to gain weight. Will gaining any weight affect my sway? I've heard women that lose weight get girls so is the opposite going to get me a boy? I want to be healthy but I really don't want to screw up my pink sway.

Last thing, I read somewhere that skipping breakfast is key to a pink sway. So if I wake up at 9am, when is the soonest I can eat and what is safe to eat for breakfast? How many hours from the time you wake is it ok to eat?

I can't entirely remember your history but I think I recall you had some nutrient absorption issues. My standard recommendation is for most people to drop multi's OR to go to 3x a week but anyone who truly needs them for health/wellbeing should continue them daily or no less than 3x a week.

I have guys take supps for 6 weeks prior to TTC but we don't know for sure if they work right away or not. Just not enough inf

Weight loss and gain has not proven to be as effective as we would like. If you need to gain a small amount of weight for your health, you'll def. get pregnant more easily if you do. It could sway blue a little, but we have seen lots of opposites with weight loss/gain.

Skipping breakfast isn't "key" it's just one thing htat may help a little. EVen if you just push it back from when you normally eat it a few hours, that's all you need to do.

So hubby and I tried the night of the 1st (technically the 2nd since it was 3amish). We were spooning and I layed with him inside on me for a few minutes and continued to lay there after he went to the bathroom so hopefully that was enough time. I think there was still sperm inside the next day too because my panties were wet but not like normal it was shiny and watery. So how long before I will know or how long before I should take a pregnancy test?

atomic sagebrush
September 4th, 2015, 05:41 PM
That's not sperm, it's semen. Semen is like a "life raft" after it gets deposited, the sperm swim out of it into the fluid inside your body and then the "remains" come back out over the next 24 hours or so.

I would give it 12 days! or even 14-16 days after attempt if AF does not show. (I am kind of conservative on that.) Some would test earlier, but I think it stresses people out to get negatives so I prefer people wait till they'd for sure get a positive.

Ok so I was testing with Clearblue Advanced Digital test starting on the 5th (because the nurse suggested I test on the 14th day of my cycle) and got four days of low and then suddenly yesterday got the solid smiley and noticed today it's still on the screen today. I decided to test on just the strip since the holder was stuck like that and saw two very solid blue lines. I compared it from the previous ones and it definitely looked like gradual line darkening with today being solid blue. I did some quick research on Google and found that means ovulation is occurring now is that correct?

My ovulation calendars all say today is ovulation day, so even though I got the solid smiley yesterday we still wanted to wait til today so we're going to try tonight when he gets off work.

My next question is if I'm ovulating today is it normal to have some spotting? I was checking my cm and noticed it had a brownish tint but was still very egg white like (stretchy and watery). I'm also kinda crampy. This is not a usual occurrence so should I be concerned? Am I still ovulating? Last night I checked sm and there was ALOT of it! Like a ton! And then this morning there was still alot but it had a bit of brown blood in it. So should we still try tonight? He just got home.

One last thing, we're thinking of using coconut oil as lube, is that ok for a pink sway?

Hi nikki thought I'd jump in just in case you don't get an answer back today. Yes you should definately have an attempt. If you've ovulated today then you only have a small window to try and catch the egg (the egg generally lives for 12-24 hours) Also during ovulation it is possible to see blood tinged cm.
