Hi,
I took my last Menopur injection September 3rd (had 1500iu injection everyday since day 4, (25.10) so 11 days of injections ). I went for a scan September 4th. where I had 2 mature follicles at 18 mm, both in my right ovary so the clinic told me to take the Pregnyl injection (trigger) that evening at 10. Don't wan't to bore you with the details, but for some reason I did not inject the right amount - a bit more than half the dose I was suppose to :(
Does anybody know, if this can prevent the 2 mature follicles from ovulating/beeing useful? Or could they be fertilizable without the trigger? I was on clomid before Menopur where i ovulated on my own - only with help from the clomid...

The clinic told us to dtd the day of the trigger and two days after. We dtd the day before the trigger and on the day I took the trigger and two days after. THe clinic told me that I would ovulate 36-48 hours after the trigger shot. I had ewcm the day after the trigger (which is less than 36-48 hours after the trigger), so maybe I ovulated earlier than I was suppose to…unfortunately I did not do an ovulation test before the day after, in the morning which was negative - and they have been negative since. Shouldn't they be positive due to the hormone in the trigger? maybe this is due to the fact that I did not take the shot correctly.. Vey confused. Will go to the clinic on saturday to take a progesterone blood test, and then we’ll see if I ovulated or not. Just curious if anybody have experience with negative ovulation test after trigger.

Thank you!

If you didn't get the trigger shot in, you may not ovulate and that's why it was negative.

Is it not possible for the follicles to release on their own?

Sure. The trigger shot helps the follicles mature and trigger the release of mature eggs. The menopur alone only helps you stimulate ovulation. So the trigger shot with the menopur would work together more efficiently then the menopur alone.

The biggest issue is timing intercourse right without the trigger.

Okay. Thank you so much! Fingers crossed that I ovulated the day after the trigger and we'd covered the fertile window with our bd. If I haven't gone pregnant this cycle I'll definitely make sure to take the trigger right next cycle.
