Hi everyone I'm TTC a girl and very confused by conflicting things I've read on the Internet

So - I thought multiple attempts/releases was better for girl sway with last attempt before O (due to the male sperm dying off quicker than female)

Everywhere I have read do not save up sperm and do it only on O because then there will be lots of super strong male sperm who will swim directly to the egg. This fits for me because my boys were both conceived on ovulation day

However here I am reading as well as the LE diet (which I am going to start) we should DTD every 4 days and only one attempt around O. Can anyone explain the theory behind that to me? Am happy to try whatever works! X

We seem to be getting better results for girl at one attempt on positive OPK OR every 4th day from AF. Multiple attempts sways boy.

Atomic has an awesome essay on this called "The TROUBLE with timing". Sorry I can't link it on my phone but you should be able to find it in "the complete index" or maybe someone else will be able to link it.

I'm really confused can someone just tell me what I'm supposed to do for girl sway (apart from diet which I've read about and started already and I know is the most important) - abstain or DTD every 4 days?

Sorry just noticed bunnywabbit's reply! I think I'll try every 4 days from AF then as my boys were both conceived on one attempt at O only months...

Am starting to worry I just have a very boy diet as I love caffeine and chocolate. Have started skipping breakfast and stopping snacks. Am hoping this helps. Am worried I can't stick to such a rigid LE diet but that alone will be a big enough change for me as I snack on chocolate nearly every day usually

Hi and welcome Floral. I know it can be confusing at first but the business of this site is in part investigating the old school sway tactics to see if they even work and/or if we can improve upon them. Right now, we've been getting a very consistent 70-75% success, with a large sample sice for pink with one attempt in the fertile window. WE've been also experimenting with every 4 days but this is newer and a smaller sample size. I generally recommend people start off with the one attempt (and positive OPK is a convenient time to have this attempt, but it doesn't necessarily matter if you wanted to start off trying it with a 2-3 day cutoff that is at your discretion, stay away from 4-5 day cutoffs as that is next to no chance of conception and 99% of the people who think they got pg from one of those long cutoffs ovulated sooner than they thought they did)

We have found both thru scientific research and our own experience (most of us have 2-3-4 or more timing opposites) that timing doesn't sway. Number of attempts does seem to sway, even though we don't yet know why. Additionally, aside from timing, the idea that Y sperm are faster has also been totally debunked. It just doesn't work.

The Trouble With Timing essay is here http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gender-swaying-general-discussion/7691-trouble-timing.html
X and Y sperm swim equally fast and live the same time http://genderdreaming.com/forum/swaying-studies-and-scientific-research/1562-what-real-differences-between-x-sperm-y-sperm.html

All that having been said, if you DO still want to try timing, that is up to you and here is the directions for that. http://genderdreaming.com/forum/ttc-a-girl-best-practices/1380-shettles-method-timing.html?1380-Shettles-method-of-timing= I also have a quick and easy timing book in the membership and plans section for sale if that's something you'd be interested in.

Caffeine is another thing that has been totally debunked for a girl. The original idea was that "caffeine makes calcium leach from the body" but that was totally debunked by researchers, and now it's appearing that calcium probably doesn't sway pink anyway so doubly so. We have gotten good results with coffee for TTC a girl and I got my daugher with coffee after getting 4 boys over 20 years drinking tea!

White and milk chocolate are ok on LE Diet. Just as long as you stick in the limits for the day. Prob. best to avoid dark choc due to nutrients.

Thanks for the replies :)

I'm glad to hear that about coffee, I'll stick to my usual intake then (at least until I fall pregnant anyway!). I don't mind cutting down chocolate, I'm not sure of the exact recommendations for the LE diet but I'm generally skipping breakfast and stopping snacks as well as trying to have less red meat and chicken etc.

I'm glad youve said that about the 4-5 day before O timing attempts, as its not worked for 3 months now and I agree that it's just too far away and a waste of time! Think I'll use our one attempt for like 2 days before o this month. Well that's if my period ever arrives as its late - but negative pregnancy tests so not for a good reason!

So thankful caffeine and chocolate are fine on the LE diet. No caffeine and no chocolate make bunnywabbit go crazy....

I think we have better results with coffee. So many of the all boy mums are tea drinkers.

Thank you for your responses ladies, looks like i will be converting to coffee then and ditching my green tea (no wonder i have boys), not a big fan but I'm sure i will grow to love it lol. what is the thinking behind coffee for girls and tea for boys?

Ashforblue, did you drink your coffee black? With or without sugar/sweetener? Congratulations on your blue one :)

I have no thoughts on the coffee vs. tea phenomenon, I just knew I had always drunk tea and gotten 4 boys that way. On IG they were saying "caffeine sways blue" but the thing was, I had noticed (also on IG, but also people I knew IRL) that tons of the all girl mamas were huge coffee drinkers and many of my fellow blue moms were either low/no caff or else tea drinkers so it was all very weird and nonsensical to me. Then a study came out that showed no difference in caffeine intake with moms who conceived boys vs. girls and the whole "caff. causes calcium to leach from the body" idea was also debunked so I decided to switch to coffee with my daughter and over time more and more have done the same with seemingly good results.

When I got my daughter, I cheated and had coffee with REAL sugar in it in the morning. Technically it is supposed to be black or artificial sweetener, but I felt like life was just not worth living haha so I made that one of my personal cheats. Still got a girl that way.

Does xylitol count as real or artificial, just out of interest?
