...will it affect DH's sperm count in October if he is working outside in the heat right now? It is hot as heck here (85 degrees), and he's working on a roof! Aren't the October sperm forming right now?

It can to some extent but like I told flava, it's ALWAYS something. The benefits of TTC in Oct. plus swaying supps and diet, will hopefully totally counteract the heat of working on the roof.

He sleeps in boxers and usually with nothing but a sheet (if even that). It cools down quite a bit at night here, usually in the 50's or 60's.

I hope we haven't cooked the boys! It is still early. They aren't done forming yet. I hope by October they will be okay. I wonder if I should wait for November??? Then the November boys haven't started forming yet. ANd it will be colder here soon... Ugh, there are just too many variables!

I don't know if this is reassuring or not but my DH (father of 3 boys) is ALWAYS hot! If it's warm at night I have to get him to move away from me because he emits so much heat and if it's cold I use him as a hot water bottle and he always sleeps naked (more or less)! He also wears tight boxers etc. etc.

I don't know about you guys, but my DH is starting to get annoyed with my constant temperature monitoring of his balls. I am specifically hoping this is our month because he will start dancing again in a week and then he has to wear the heat-inducing dancebelt (like a jockstrap for dancers so their package looks smooth under tights and stays in place when dancing) and then I really will be afraid that his sperm are all dead.

Hobbers, yes, the dancebelt is like a thick bra for balls, with a thong in the back. He HATES it, but is so used to it now. I laugh every time I see him in it or see them in the laundry. So, when he's rehearsing (which he does for 7 hours a day during the season, which starts in a week and lasts through March), he has to wear the dancebelt, then some spandex or tights or something, then some warm-up pants over it usually. I have a huge fear that it makes them way too hot. Which is why I am really hoping we did it this month so we don't have to ttc when he has to wear it!

I just tuck a meat thermometer down there and check it occasionally....LOL

Sorry, couldn't resist... You can tell how hot they are by how far away from the body they hang. If the scrotum is dangling way far away, like a Billy goat, those little guys are hot;)

You are right, I totally took note of that! Although, you never know if he was dancing much when they conceived. And interestingly, I have taken a poll of every male dancer we know with children (there are not many, they are usually gay or players), and ALL have girls. That's where my dancebelt theory came from.

But you know what I was thinking, I believe they conceived after wrapping Black Swan, so I bet she was eating like a madwoman since she probably had to have a very restrictive diet during filming to get that thin. That is what my good friend Cultured Pearl (who is freaking amazing at celebrity gender guesses) said too. She guessed boy for Natalie because she had just been working out a lot and dieting, then relaxed and conceived. Not only that but supposedly her performance is a major accomplishment which could potentially raise T as well.

This is awesome it's been 100+ even reached 106 here, to make you feel better we conceived ds1 and ds2 in March and April and that's 80+ degree weather for us, we don't really get a winter here more like fall weather for 4mos then summer again lol

Okay, another question about this...

We went to the hot springs July 22 & 23. 72 days from that is Oct 3 (I just counted!). SO, is the whole 72 days thing exact, or what? I mean, on day 73, those sperm are gone (as long as they are "released into the wild"?). I am guessing that those swimmers were probably damaged by the hot water, right? So as long as I O after that, I should be okay for the month? I think I will probably O around the 5th or 6th, so it will be close... I know we are sort of rehashing the same thing over and over here, but I just remembered the hot springs today and was panicking!

Hobber, I would not worry one second over going to the hot springs back in July. I think it has to be a fairly chronic exposure to heat that makes a difference, not one or two days 2 1/2 months ago.

Obviously, if you can avoid heat, that's always good (so no saying, "well we can sit in the hot tub because it's just this one time" but if it already happened and it was ages ago, I would not spare an ounce of concern over it.
