Hi Mommas,

Unexpected ultrasound baby measuring 13+6.

Not sure if nub is captured but I'm thinking its long, straight & forked. Very girly?

I don't think you could take a reliable guess with that pic hun being as baby is not lying flat. A friend of mine had a similar pic to that and went on to have a boy. Did you notice anything during your scan? Xxx

It also has to do with the angle in comparison to the spine. I think what you're looking at is too long to be the nub. Or do you mean the short line underneath the long, thin lines? Leaning boy for the moment, but not one if the best ones to go by...

I didn't see anything during the scan at all, I was looking but nothing caught my eye.

Yes I did mean the top line - it's the only picture I got :)

I don't think that first line is a nub True, I think that's too long... I would also go by the shorter line & give a slight boy lean..... Really wish you had a better pic, of course that's how my pics turned out as well, lol! Most of us swayers seem to never get great nub pics!! You had an amazing sway & would kinda be shocked if you hear pink....

First line or three is not the nub. Part of the nub is the second line from the bottom and the last line (the rest of the nub) is obscured. It appears to be stacked. Hard to tell without the baby lying down.

I will have another couple of scans before the 'big scan' to check on the bleed but it will be too late for nubs and our hospital don't do potty shots.

Watch like a hawk then! Sometimes as the baby moves you see a potty shot.

You should see boy parts of its a boy. My scan was at 13w5d and bub was measuring 14w6d, and we saw clear boy parts via a potty shot in all directions!!!

I'm getting my scan at 14 weeks exactly and was told that at this stage of you can get a nub *and* potty shot that that's the best route for reliability, however I'm sure it varies from baby to baby with how developed they are.

I have emailed for an appointment :) it was disappointing not getting an image anyone could guess on after waiting soooo long for guesses :D

Appointment made :) it's 2 weeks away so if there's anything to be seen I'm hoping to see it as they wont give gender before 18 weeks.

Looking forward to updating here and hopefully have some better pictures :fx:

You requested me to have a look at your nub shot. I do think this is the nub we are looking at and it seems to be quite a tricky nub! Baby is quite curled up, the nub is long and forked, but it seems to be angled upwards, even taking the baby curled up into account. Also skull seems boyish. I will lean slightly towards boy, but I don't want to give you too much hope as you have been swaying, so disappointment would be huge if I were wrong.

Why is it that the people who need the best nub shots end up getting the most dubious nub shots?!! Twist of fate or something. I really so hope that you can see a nub or potty shot at your next scan. 14 weeks is good for nub and potty shots. Even if they won't predict before week 18, maybe you could ask them to take a potty shot/nub shot so you can put them here? It all depends on the tech and how willing they are to help I guess.

Don't worry I'm not going to get excited one way or another and have very much accepted another DD :agree:
I did think this was the nub and do think the angle is due to baby's curled position. Only a week to go now I will be almost 16 weeks so hoping for a glimpse of something or nothing as the case may be !!

True I had an ultrasound today at 13 +4 and you could very very clearly see his <cough cough> equipment! The doctor slowed down to show me but if I had been looking for it I also would have caught it. I hope you know one way or the other next week! :)

It was a ultrasound done specifically to look for any issues so it was very very high resolution. I don't think you have your answer just yet!! :) :)

Baby didn't move in mine, I don't even know how she measured it - I was waiting for her to change angle or something but it was a quick US and baby stayed sitting up.
