So I have some questions about some supplements for DH...

Are there any problems with taking these when TTC Boy...

Pycnogenol (Pinus pinaster) 30mg (French Maritime Pine Bark Extract) including 200mg Citrus Bioflavonoids
Holland & Barrett Pycnogenol Capsules 30mg | Holland & Barrett - the UK (http://www.hollandandbarrett.com/shop/product/holland-barrett-pycnogenol-capsules-30mg-60007130)

Maca 500mg
Holland & Barrett Maca Capsules 500mg | Holland & Barrett - the UK (http://www.hollandandbarrett.com/shop/product/holland-barrett-maca-capsules-500mg-60039102)
(The advice on the container says 1500mg daily, but each capsule contains 500mg, so I can decide that in 500mg doses)

Holland & Barrett Horny Goat Weed | Holland & Barrett - the UK (http://www.hollandandbarrett.com/shop/product/holland-barrett-horny-goat-weed-60027896)

Tribulus Terrestris 250mg (Standardised to contain 40% saponins)
Holland & Barrett Tribulus Terrestris Capsules 250mg | Holland & Barrett - the UK (http://www.hollandandbarrett.com/shop/product/holland-barrett-tribulus-terrestris-capsules-250mg-60005255)

All of this is to try and make sure the spermies get there when they need to!

I'm sorry I can't advise as im doing a girl sway but horny goat weed made me laugh out loud [emoji23] #mature [emoji4] good luck! Ps with my 2 boys I ate a varied diet of red and white meat, wholemeal bread and pastas, fish, lots of fruit and veg and lots of junk too in the evenings and weekends!! I never went hungry. I also took loads of vitamins and supps and used preseed and DTD daily over my fertile period. X

We are getting pretty great results WITHOUT the 11 herbs and spices approach. I understand the temptation to want to go out and find everything under the sun that has ever been said to boost sperm healht, but you have to understand that most of these things are not at all tested and may have issues that we do not know about in terms of health. additionally, unless I personally have witnessed tons of people using them and getting good results with blue sways (not sperm count or quality, ACTUAL real life people taking them and getting boys while taking them) then I am wary of them.

Pycogenol - this is probably fine and safe. Lots of HT people take it and if it was affecting sperm or health negatively I think we'd know that by now. Don't go nuts with it.

Maca - I do not feel like enough people have taken this for me to support using it for swaying. We have had some weird experiences with it like ill health and hallucinations and because I do not have a good feel for how it sways, I'd skip it.

Horny Goat Weed - Have not seen ANYONE taking this in HT or swaying and cannot say if it is safe or how it sways. I would skip it.

TT - AVOID. There is mixed info on this and it may be very bad for sperm health and quality. It may make a guy make lots of testosterone but at the expense of health and in such a way that it actually may sway pink. AVOID TT

Thanks for the answer :)

Luckily I decided not to start DH with any of those supps just yet, although read a lot of positive things about Pycogenol and how it is good for the spermies.

What puts me off a little is that this one contains "200mg Citrus Bioflavonoids" - and I know nothing about this but am cautious.

Is it better to find an alternative version, because of this?

bioflavonoids are great! :agree: That's a nice dose, not too much.

You're not worried because of citrus and pH, are you? Citrus doesn't lower pH

Partially yes... my understanding is that Vitamin C taken in pill form is acidic, but by eating an orange (or other food containing VitC), it becomes alkaline.

I was worried that maybe the citrus in this case was the same... good in fruit, but the opposite in pill form?

The pH diet jazz doesn't work. It really doesn't. Most of us on here have pH opposites both boys and girls.

The bioflavonoids is not the Vitamin C part, it's the antioxidant in the citrus peel and it is good for sperm health and quality like the pycogenol is (also an antioxidant similar to bioflavonoids). It's good!
