So I have had a YI for a few days. Its been pretty clear for 2 days now and Dh and I DTD this afternoon. I grabbed the tube to put some on him after (poor guy, I gave it to him last time we dtd cause I didn't know I had it yet!). I checked out the insert to see if there are suggestions for outer skin and saw that it can render spermicide inactive! We are not yet TTC!!! and, I am pretty sure I am ovulating today or tomorrow based on my cm.

SOOO that said (maybe it will be fine) does it sway for either gender? I am using canesten.

Thanks for the thoughts!!!

Do you have the ingredients? FX for you!

Do you get yeast infections often btw? We were going to use spermicide as part of our sway but I read that they can cause allergies and yeast infections in some people so I didn't bother. It might be useful to use Rephresh every 3 days to keep YIs at bay in future - and it'll sway pink too :D

Tamara has always told people to wait to TTC until after their yeast was cleared up. I wouldn't go that far (because yeast ~may~ sway pink to begin with) but I would just be very careful to keep an eye on pH and make sure it stayed low.

I think the reason it can render spermicide inactive is probably via dilution of the active ingredients and not from chemistry.

Personally, I have found that RepHresh and/or plain yogurt with the active cultures are much more effective at clearing up YI than the OTC creams are anyway.

I don't mean to hijack your thread but I'm in the tww and have a terrible YI :(
I really don't want to use the OTC stuff incase I am pregnant. What is this yogurt treatment and how do you do it Atomic?? Is there anything else natural?? I'm dying over here :tissue:

RepHresh is ok but I think the yogurt works way better and will help rebalance the "good" bugs so the YI doesn't come right back again.

All you need is some of the plain yogurt with active cultures. Non-skim is prob. better than skim because it has less carbs to feed the yeast but either will work, just make sure it's plain, not sweetened, and has active cultures. All you do is just insert a little of it, like a tablespoon or two, with an eyedropper or even just with your fingers/spoon and then take a little of it and treat the external parts of the VJ with a little more yogurt. It works almost immediately and is a great option for those of us who are allergic to the creams.

The AZO with cranberry does sway pink and I did see some successful sways when people were taking it. They were doing a lot of other stuff as well though.

The link I posted above talks in depth about why people get YI while swaying.

I had a yeast infection whilst ttc DS2 so used a canesten pessary 2 days before ovulation. I think it raised my ph because they are quite a high ph. This time i am pregnant and had a yeast infection and took nothing until a few days after ovulation to be on the safe side. I hope a yeast infection untreated sways pink! I know it's not ideal but didn't want to waste a month.

TSL, some evidence does indicate that YI does have the potential to sway pink, because the byproducts of yeast are low ph, but the problem is that sometimes your body produces a lot of discharge trying to wash the buggies away. It's too unpredictable to use as a swaying technique, of course, but it may very well sway pink for you.
