So last week I had my 12 week ultrasound and the lady said that the baby was to large for his number of weeks. Babies CRL is now 10 cm, and it should be 6,5 cm. A fetus CRL is normallly 10 cm at 15 weeks, so baby is three weeks ahead.
My head is spinning now, large babies mean in my family large boys.....
What do you guys think?
Does anybody now what the reasons may be that babies grow to fast?
I gained a lot of weight, 12 kg in 12 weeks.........

Very sure, I skipped the attempt the month before. Only did one attempt month after that. I can not be further along :(

It's probably a combination of a tall baby and a mistake by the ultrasound tech.

Gestational diabetes means a big baby but that is much later on in pregnancy.

You can't tell your baby's gender from their size. My daughter was my second biggest baby!!

Exactly, DS#1 was 6lbs, 11oz delivered at 40 weeks, DD was 8 lbs 3oz at 39 weeks, he was in 50th percentile in height first year and DD is in the 99th percentile in height so far!

Do you mean one attempt in your fertile window or one attempt all cycle? Sometimes your body can gear up to O, get a positive OPK, and then not O til days later. It has happened to me!

One attempt all cycle, tough month sex- wise ;) but also at Pos OPK. I felt O pains 24 hours later.
I think you are right Atomic, large babies run in my husbands family. My first Son was 53 centimeters and 3750 grams, and second son 55 centimeters and 4100 grams. So it might be logically that this third baby will be even longer and heavier (oh oh!) and I did not saw the technician measure up my baby. Just after the ultrasound was done and she sat down behind her computer she mentioned that it was a big baby, a bit strange she did not mention it right away during the ultrasound right?

She probably didn't even think much of it! They see babies all day long in every shape and size. :)

Yesterday I was with my son in the doctor. He had to be measured. The doctor told me 96,5 cm, and I was sure it was wrong, because he isn't two years yet. After a while the doctor told me he was wrong, and told me 90,5 cm (although he didn't measured my son again). So, mistakes can happen... Even with easily measurable children!!!
