Needing help with my period please

I bled last Friday and it normally goes on for 5-6 days so I thought I had finished on Wednesday because I had no bleeding all night and day so today (friday) there was bright red blood on my panty liner and when I wipe myself and I have the slight period and back pain. I'm so confused as to what would be causing this. It's never happened before and I'm trying really hard not to stress because I want to start trying in a few days. Thanks

This happened to me last cycle. What supplements are you taking? Are you taking aspirin? Mine lasted for 10 days in the end and is normally 4/5 days

Thanks for your quick reply. Yes I am taking aspirin but I did not take it today because I was a bit scared thinking that might be the cause, I'm anaemic and I'm not taking iron tablets while trying. I'm also taking vitex, saw palmetto, Zyrtec, Folic acid,benedryl, sometimes tums and sometimes sudafed. I was taking calcium and magnesium with b6 up until nearly two weeks ago. Thanks again

Belle, this happened to me last cycle and I'm swaying for a :xy: so no aspirin or other girl friendly supps.

I've had period for 7 days, but what worried me more is that I started spotting 3dpo. I guess it's something hormonal, Idk...I'm going to schedule appointment with my ob/gyn for next week if possible :(

Belle, I would stop the aspirin, my bleeding stopped a couple of days after that, atomic said it might be a good idea to take it every other day or every 3 days.

Thanks girls good luck ZB and let us know how u go at the docs and feeling down sways blue, I try so hard not to feel down but I understand it's now built in our hearts and u just can't help it. I didn't take aspirin today and I didn't have any bleeding so I'm abit happier. XO

Belle, I can say with near 100% certainty that it is from the aspirin. I would cut back on the amount. It is still effective when taken even only once or twice a week.

ANYONE who believes they are experiencing bleeding from aspirin needs to cut back immediately. Don't stop it cold turkey because that's not good for you. Just start taking it once or twice a week instead and if you tolerate that level, you can think about increasing it, or not if it's still lowering yoru pH.

Also, no one should take aspirin and Sudafed together. Sudafed was linked to an increased risk of stroke in young women who were taking blood thinners.

PS - cranberry is just as bad for bleeding, if not even worse, so unfortunately it is not an option.

Zivic, did you know that fish oil, EPO, and garlic are also blood thinners and can def. cause similar symptoms??

Spotting 3 DPO is obviously not good, but I suspect the long periods are from the blood thinning supps.

Thank you so much AS. I had no idea about sudafed and aspirin. I'll ditch the sudafed and take aspirin every 3 days.

Atomic - I remember you've said Fish Oil and garlic were blood thinners so I've stopped it (cold turkey :oops: but I was too scared of symptoms) My ob/gyn can't see me this week bcoz of her busy schedule ( I kinda thought that would be the case), but the next week. I'll keep you posted with my TMI lol :)

Well I think I have high estrogen because I'm ovulating today but it's only 10 days from the first day of my period. Is that what it means? I'm taking saw palmetto and vitex, shouldn't the cycle be longer?

Belle, I've had a couple of short cycles since taking Saw P and Vitex together - this month (our attempt) I ovulated on cd11 and a couple of months ago on cd13 (the one in between was cd15!). I asked Atomic about it on another post, here's the link:

I think you should take the fish oil 2x a week rather than stopping cold turkey and eat normal, dietary amounts of garlic (although for me, eating even just one clove of garlic on my period can cause very heavy bleeding!!!) Be careful!!!

Enough estrogen to ovulate doesn't necessarily mean too much estrogen. Vitex and SP can screw with your cycles, but they DO sway pink.
