View Full Version : Does this count as 1 attempt??

Hello,

I ´m very frustrated at the moment...my story is a bit crazy I think, but I hope someone can put my mind at ease :nails:

My plan was to have 1 attempt at positive ovulating test as it is recommend by ttc a girl.
We BD at positive ovulating test (prior to that my husband abstained 9 days).
20 minutes before BD I took a lactic acid suppository. Directly after our attempt I go to the toilette and took one more lactic acid suppository ( in some way I believe that low ph can sway, so it was important for me to include it in my sway...).
But the next day I got the feeling that all the lactic acid stuff + get up directly after BD was tooooo much and no sperm make it to the egg...I was so sad, that I thougth that way I cant get pregnant ! But I didnt want to break the 1 attempt rule at the same time...I dont know what really went on in my mind..but I thougth maybe this could help..so the next day after our attempt, I "made" that my husband ejaculated, and after he finished he goes shortly in me (sry for details..) So there were at most some droplets of sperm which came into me...
The next day we make the same procedure again....I dont know what I m really expected from this..because it was next to nothing, but like I said a little droplet...

And know my question : Does this count as further attempt?? Is my sway now break down because of that? :(

I dont know if I m pregnant, because I m in the 2 WW .. but I m worried afterwards and peeved at me, that I m not depend on the only 1 attempt...
First I was soo relaxed..and know it makes me crazy :nails:

I seriously doubt that with 2 lactic acid suppositories so close to your attempt, that any sperm survived.

I also seriously doubt that your second attempt could have resulted in pregnancy. Third attempt would have been too little and too late as well.

I would actualy class that as zero attempts.

Anything is possible but it is going to be a 1 in 100 chance of conception and NO that does not count as 2 attempts.

Thanks atomic for your answer! :)

I forget to mention that after my hsuband ejaculated (the ejaculation went in my hands..sry for details again..) I took a very very little bit on his phallus and then he went into me....may this aspect break my sway?

Even with people having "full loads" several times in the fertile window (sorry I know that's kind of gross) they don't always get pregnant. Again, I do not think you are very likely to conceive from all this.

But what if I get pregnant however ? Do you think that attempt is more blue ?

No, you probably recieved less sperm than people do in one regular attempt so it should count as less than one attempt and therefore be more pink.

But please don't continue to sway pink with half attempts like this, since it cuts the odds of conception too much and you end up actually missing lots of good sway months.

I do not have the information to be able to say that.

Worrying over it now is not going to fix it. It is what it is, at this point, and neither I nor anyone can tell you if you'd have a boy or a girl. People get boys from perfect pink sways all the time and I honestly just don't know.

:agree: that no one should have attempts like this. It's actually worse than nothing because every good month you miss, is that much longer on diet and too many people end up stopping ovulating and having to sway blue just to get things moving again.

We honestly don't know if it's number of sperm that sways though. We thought it was originally, but then people were having super strict sways but doing lots of attempts and were getting boys doing that. The one attempt has been a way stronger sway than the less sperm idea.

But even with two full on attempts we still get 65% girls, it's really fine either way. Again, I consider this ZERO attempts. You may as well have taken a birth control pill. No worries.

Thanks for your answers atomic and eko!
I tested today...and the test is positive! !! Oh my god!
I dont know what to think now. .I m a bit sad because I think my sway is doomed because of my ..yes i would also say anxious/ worries and my little "attempts".
First I also didnt think that I will get pregnant ...but I m pregnant now...
It is very hard for me, because this is my last one. ..

A positive pregnancy test means that baby was meant to be!!!

Your baby could very well be a girl. Please try not to worry.

I hope my wish come true !

Atomic, do you know something about Humanes Choriongonadotropin in early pregnancy?
I have read time ago that a high level of Humanes Choriongonadotropin could indicates a pregnancy with a girl and contrary low Humanes Choriongonadotropin indicates a pregnancy with a boy.
I dont know where I read it, but I think it was a study about it ?
Do you know something about this? Or does it maybe only indicates between the pregnancys of one individuel women? Because my pregnancy results from an stimulated cycle, I know my Humanes Choriongonadotropin at ovulation + 14 days. The pregnancy with my son results as well from an stimulated cycle, so I know the Humanes Choriongonadotropin at ovulation + 14 days too. There it was 225 and now it is 111...Does this indicate something?

it is an average, meaning that on average girl pregnancies make slightly more HCG. But it's like height - on average men are taller than women, but there are plenty of short men and tall women. You can't tell anything just by virtue of someone's height - it's like saying, someone is 5 ft. 8 or 172 cm - that person could be a man or a woman.

The amount of HCG varies by woman and with each individual pregnancy. It depends on what your level was to begin with. A normal non-pregnant woman can have an HCG level of 0-5. And HCG doubles over time with pregnancy. So a woman with 0 HCG to start with would have a different, lower level (because hers would go 0, 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, and so on) of HCG than a woman who started with a HCG of 5 (because hers would go 5, 10, 20, 40, 80, 160 and she'd have 10 times as high of levels on the same point in pregnancy. Both women are equally pregnant, both pregnancies are equally successful, and once the doubling levels off, the woman who starts off with 0 may even go onto have even higher levels than the woman who starts off with 5, but in those early days the thing that matters is what level you started with.

Hello,

I want to update my pregnancy: I was all the time sooo nervous, because I was sooo sure, that it will be my second boy.
Before I get pregnant I was sooo anxious and nervous and I read here, that this type of women mostly have boys..
Besides my hcg level was lower than it was in my last pregnancy with my son and I have no sickness, like in my first pregnancy. All this facts make me think it cant be a girl !
But now I konw definitly it is a girl ! I m over the moon and cant believe it ! We did a Harmony test and found out that it is with 99 % a baby girl.

Congratulations! Did you do diet/exercise? Please, please post your sway. And I personally think your BD counts as one attempt, those later 2 attempts have basically no sperm.

Thank you very much !!

I was really soo so sure it is a boy! The stuff with anxious person type and that hcg is higher with girl pregnancy makes me thinking that its going to be a boy.

maidentomother: No I was couchpotato because I hate exercise. I did a light diet, because I m already underweight. The most different thing was, that I ate gum sweets after lunch and dinner and no snacking.

Great news Pinkdreamie!! Please do an add your sway to let everone know what you did for your sway even if it was only 1 or 2 things it is really helpful.

Many of us, myself included, found less sickness with our daughters than some of our boys. I had very little sickness with my daughter and my second son, my other three sons I was very sick

Atomic: Where should I add my sway ?

I hadnt sickness with my son and now its the same - no sickness. But I was so sure it must be different with other gender. But now I know that symptoms don´t mean anything :)

How long did you diet for? Did you go vegetarian, reduce fat and protein? What exactly do you mean by gum sweets, maybe say it in German? I'm in Germany also, a bit South of Bonn. :)

I'm very similar to you, already underweight to begin with and extreme couch potato because I have a very bad back.

Diet: Not long - 4 Weeks. Yes I tried not to eat meal. I didnt count Protein or fat. I ate always white bred, white Rice, Pasta. And my biggest change : no snacking between the meals and After a meal sweet gums : yoghurt gums, Gummibärchen and saure Würmchen ;)
I m from the middle of Osnabrück and Bremen ;)

I Prayed so often that god Give me a babygirl and He Heard my wish. I m so thankful. A Boy an a Girl is my Dream :)
